- Best of Apulia region - 9 days (Small Group)
The destinations and hotel accomodations were excellent. We did this trip during the late May and early June timeframe. Our tour was promoted as a 14 person max tour which was not exactly true. There were 2 groups of people split by English Speaking and Spanish Speaking. There were 2 seperate groups but touring the same places, hotels and restuarants. More people then to deal with and figure out logistics and wait time. Overall fairly smooth but room for improvement by decreasing wait time staying on schedule. The tour left a little late each morning so we had less time to see the sights and our free time to explore on our own. Our guides English comprehension was limited and difficult to understand the English with her heavy Italy accent. The tour would be much better just having a group of 20 or less and a better guide that could explain the sights better.
- Highlights of Puglia
Our tour of Puglia was made all the better by our wonderful tour guide Sonia who took care of our every need and want. Sonia was organized, yet spontaneous and fun and made sure that each and every member of the tour was acknowledged and made to feel important. It was obvious that Sonia had researched each destination, allowing us a good start on arrival. As this was our first organized tour we were interested in seeing whether we could be ‘tour people’ and the answer was a resounding YES. We plan to look for more Tour Radar experiences in the future. Ciao!
We were 2 couples on this small group tour during October- and had a marvellous time with Emilio, Clara, Michele and Antonio - staying in guest accommodation on an olive farm at Castoglione - with daily tours to see all the major tourist sites in this part of Italy. Because of the small and personal nature of the tour we were able to experience this part of Italy with much more of a "local flavour" than is normally possible - which we all appreciated. Emilio is an excellent chef and provided us with authentic ‘Pugliesi’ cuisine - something we looked forward to at the end of each day.

"9 day tour of Puglia is really 7 days because 2 days involve travel. We would have been happy to skip the last 3 days. We visited one estate that had an excellent lunch. It also had its own wine which was excellent. We believe there should be some winery visits. We didn't like the experience of sharing part of the tour with South Americans.

"Excellent combination of activities and the guides for each were all exceptional. The only let down was the hotel which was quite run down, but worst still the air-conditioning wasn't working and although we talked to various hotel staff each day the situation wasn't remedied

"Do you want to experience the REAL Italy? Do you want to experience the area that Italians vacation at? Do you want to stay at a real working olive farm where the owner just happens to be a local celebrity chef too? When we say family owned, family run we mean it, in that the daily excursions (in the family van) and fabulous meals wouldn't be possible without the help of the wife, brother, father and even the four little ones! Don't even bother to finish reading this, just book it NOW! So real, so fun, so delicious, thank you Emilio and family for an unforgettable week!
