  1. Day 1

    Tirana

    A Drive Albania representative picks you up at the airport and takes you to your hotel in central Tirana. You'll have time to settle in before gathering in reception at 18.00, then walking to a nearby restaurant for your welcome meal.

  2. Day 2

    Tirana to Fishte

    Start the morning with a walking tour through central Tirana, including a visit to the House of Leaves museum. After grabbing lunch, you'll drive out to Bunk'Art 1, a secret nuclear bunker built during the Communist era. Later you'll head north to Fishte village where you tour the Mrizi i Zanave restaurant's meat and cheese factory, followed by wine tasting and dinner.

    Fishte to Shkoder

    The morning is relaxed before you drive north to Shkoder with a stop at a village pottery workshop. Once there, you'll visit Rozafa Castle and the recently restored Lead Mosque, then check out the Mes Bridge and Venice Art Mask Factory. Around 16.00 you'll take a walking tour of Shkoder's centre, with optional dinner at your tour leader's favorite restaurant.

    Shkoder to Valbona via Lake Koman

    You'll depart around 09.30 to reach Lake Koman for the ferry crossing. The 2-hour 30-minute ferry journey through the Albanian Alps is considered one of the world's most spectacular inland ferry routes, giving you plenty of time to relax and take in the views. Afterward you drive to Valbona village, arriving around 17.00 with time for a beer and sunset. Optional dinner at the hotel restaurant.

  5. Day 5

    Valbona to Gjakova

    There's an optional mountain hike into Valbona National Park this morning if you want it, returning by 16.00. After that you'll drive to the Kosovo border and head to Gjakova, a charming city. Once you check in and freshen up, you'll meet in the lively bazaar where locals order snacks to the table for your dinner.

  6. Day 6

    Gjakova to Prizren

    The day starts with a walking tour of Gjakova led by a local guide who explains the city's recent history. You'll drive north to the UNESCO-protected Visoki Decani monastery, then head south to Prizren with a wine-tasting stop in Rahovec village. The evening is yours in Prizren, with optional dinner at your tour leader's favorite restaurant.

    Prizren

    Two options split the group today. You can join your tour leader on a hiking excursion to the Sharr mountains that border Kosovo and North Macedonia, or stay in Prizren for a day off to explore on your own pace.

  8. Day 8

    Prizren to Radomire

    The morning is relaxed as you cross back into Albania. You'll stop in the curious town of Kukes, then continue south toward the little-known Diber region with spectacular winding roads and scenery. You arrive in the tiny village of Radomire around 16.30 with time to walk around and take in the views before dinner at your guesthouse.

  9. Day 9

    Radomirë to Peshkopi

    Two options today for different fitness levels. Experienced hikers can tackle Mt Korabi (2,764m), the highest peak in the Western Balkans, departing at 06.30 and returning around 16.30. The rest of the group continues deeper into Diber with a local guide, ending the day in the forgotten town of Peshkopi. The hikers catch up later.

  10. Day 10

    Peshkopi to Ohrid

    You'll cross into North Macedonia this morning, and you'll notice this area is predominantly inhabited by ethnic Albanians. You make a detour north to the Monastery of Saint Jovan Bigorski, then wind back south with a lunch stop. The day ends in Ohrid, a UNESCO World Heritage City, where you take a 2-hour walking tour around 16.00 and share a farewell meal.
