Itinerary
- Day 1
Munich
Your driver will meet you at Munich Airport after you collect your bags, which usually takes about an hour total. Once you're settled at your hotel, the afternoon and evening are completely yours. You can rest after traveling or take a walk around the neighborhood to get your bearings.

- Day 2
Neuschwanstein Castle
This morning you'll make your way to the train station to head toward Neuschwanstein Castle and the town of Füssen. The castle sits high on a rugged hill, and you'll have time to see it from different angles around the area. Afterward, you'll walk through Füssen's old streets before catching the 2-hour train ride back through Bavaria to Munich. You're on your own for getting to the train station, but castle entry is taken care of.

Garmisch-Partenkirchen or Lake Königssee
Today you have two options to pick from. You could take the train to Garmisch-Partenkirchen and ride up to Zugspitze, Germany's highest mountain, where you can see across 400 peaks on clear days. Or instead, head to Lake Königssee with its deep green water surrounded by mountains. That route also includes Röthbachfall, a waterfall, and a small chapel called St. Bartholoma. Train transfers are covered but you'll need to get yourself to the station.

Munich to Frankfurt
After reaching the train station on your own, you'll take the train to Frankfurt with your included ticket. Later in the day, board the MS Palladium for a 1-hour river cruise down the Main. The boat runs regularly throughout the day, so you can pick a time that works for you. You'll see Frankfurt's skyline and landmarks from the water.

Idstein
The train will take you to Idstein, a small town in the Taunus area. Once there, you can visit Idstein Castle, a 14th century structure with Renaissance details and a tower offering views from the top. If castles aren't your thing, the old town center, Nassau Nature Park, and local wineries all make for good afternoons. There's no guide, so you'll explore at your own pace.

Heidelberg
Take the train to Heidelberg and spend the day wandering this historic city. The castle ruins sit on a hillside and contain Gothic and Renaissance architecture along with views over the Neckar River valley. Down in town, you can cross the Old Bridge, check out the medieval center, see an enormous wine barrel in the castle basement, and walk past Germany's oldest university. If you have energy left, the Philosophers' Way offers a nice walk with views.

Frankfurt to Berlin
This morning you'll take the train to Berlin with your ticket included. You'll need to handle getting from Berlin's train station to your hotel using a taxi, tram, or the metro system. Once you're settled, the rest of your day is open. Explore neighborhoods, grab dinner somewhere, or just rest after the journey.

Berlin
Start with a 2-hour guided walking tour through Berlin's historic core. Your guide will take you to the Brandenburg Gate, the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe, and sections of the Berlin Wall still standing. You'll hear stories about 20th century history from someone who knows the city. Later, travel to Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp where you can walk through the grounds and museum to learn about what happened there. Admission to the museum is free.

Your train to Prague departs this morning with tickets provided. You'll need to arrange your own way from the station to your hotel using a cab or Prague's public transit. After checking in, you have the evening ahead to walk around, find a restaurant, or simply get comfortable in your new surroundings.

Prague
Begin with a 3-hour guided walking tour led by a local expert. You'll visit the Rudolfinum, the old Jewish Quarter, and other important spots around the city center. Then later, hop aboard a 45-minute boat cruise on the Vltava River. From the water, you'll see Prague Castle, the Charles Bridge, the National Theatre, and other landmarks while someone explains what you're looking at.

This morning between 9 am and noon, you'll board a train from Salzburg to Vienna. The ride takes about 4 hours, and your ticket is handled. From the Vienna train station, use a cab or the tram or metro system to reach your hotel. A public transit pass is included to help you navigate the city. Get settled and rest from traveling.

Vienna
You have a 48-hour transit pass to explore Vienna on your own using trams and the metro. In the afternoon, head to Schönbrunn Palace to see the 1,441 rooms, the Great Gallery, the Hall of Ceremonies, and the surrounding gardens that show how the Habsburg rulers lived. The palace architecture is Baroque and the gardens are quite extensive. You can spend as much or as little time here as you want and fill the rest of the day with other attractions.
