Chicago
This morning starts with a guided architecture tour covering Michigan Avenue, the Magnificent Mile, the Wrigley Building, the Loop, the Lakefront, and Millennium Park. You'll head back to the hotel around 1 p.m., and the afternoon is free. Consider visiting museums, taking a scenic boat ride on the Chicago River, or checking out the Chicago Cultural Center. Later this evening, you'll join the group for a welcome dinner at Harry Caray's Italian Steakhouse.

Grand Rapids to Mackinac Island
Today involves a scenic drive north to Mackinaw City at the tip of Michigan's lower peninsula. You'll explore the coastal town and have lunch, then board the ferry to Mackinac Island. When you arrive, you'll notice something unusual: there are no cars here, just horses. Check into the Grand Hotel, a Victorian-era resort and National Historic Landmark. After dinner at your hotel, wander the quaint village streets or relax on the famous front porch.

Bay City to Detroit
