- Day 1
Calgary
You'll arrive at Calgary International Airport and get transferred to your downtown hotel. After settling in, the afternoon and evening are open for you to explore on your own. Your tour guide will reach out in the late afternoon to go over the details. The Glenbow Museum and Fort Calgary are both solid options if you want to check out some local history, or you could wander through Eau Claire Market, head up Calgary Tower for the city views, or grab dinner at one of the local restaurants and see what the nightlife is like.

- Day 2
Calgary to Banff
After your city tour of Calgary wraps up, you'll drive west on the Trans-Canada Highway toward the Rocky Mountain foothills. As you get closer to Banff National Park, the landscape changes pretty dramatically with peaks coming into view. By late afternoon you'll roll into Banff, a resort town with plenty of shops, restaurants, and cultural spots to explore once you've checked in.

Banff
This day focuses on the Banff region itself, Canada's first national park which was established back in 1885 to protect the natural hot springs. You can take a helicopter tour to see the eastern foothills if that appeals to you, or ride the gondola up Sulphur Mountain for different views. After that, the rest of your day is free to walk around Banff Avenue, relax at your hotel, and soak in the scenery around you.

Banff - Lake Louise - Jasper
Today is one of the highlights of the trip, a scenic drive through Banff and Jasper National Parks. You'll see Lake Louise, one of Canada's most photographed lakes, then head north on the Icefields Parkway through wild terrain with dramatic mountain ranges on all sides. At the Columbia Icefield, you'll board an Ice Explorer vehicle to actually ride on the Athabasca Glacier. Once you reach Jasper in the evening, there are optional activities available if you want to do more.

- Day 5
Jasper
Near Jasper, you've got several options for how to spend your day. If you're up for water activities, there's an optional rafting tour on the Athabasca River where your guide talks about the natural and human history while you paddle through short rapids and calmer sections. Another choice is a boat trip on Maligne Lake, which is known for its turquoise color and the views of Spirit Island. Or if you'd rather take it easy, there's an optional gourmet tour around Jasper where you can sample local and international food.

Jasper to Kamloops
You'll board the Rocky Mountaineer in the morning for a full day of scenic travel through the Rocky Mountains toward British Columbia. Breakfast comes included as you travel, and from your seat by the large windows you'll see ancient forests, sheer rock faces, blue lakes, and remote valleys pass by. You'll pull into Kamloops in the early evening.

- Day 7
Kamloops to Vancouver
After an early breakfast, you'll board the Rocky Mountaineer again and continue the journey to Vancouver. The train crosses through lush valleys with fruit farms and wineries dotting the landscape. You'll arrive in Vancouver in the evening, step off the train, and get transferred to your hotel in this vibrant Pacific coast city.

Vancouver
Following breakfast, you'll head out on a morning sightseeing tour of Vancouver. The city sits between mountains and the sea, which gives it a great natural setting. When the morning tour ends, your afternoon is yours to either continue exploring Vancouver on your own terms or just relax back at your hotel.
