- Day 1
Rome
You'll arrive in Rome and get transferred to your hotel where your guide meets you with tour details. Later this evening, head over to Via Cavour where you can pick from Italian restaurants, Indian spots, Chinese places, or whatever international cuisine sounds good to you.

- Day 2
Rome
Your day starts with a three-hour guided tour that combines walking through Imperial Rome with a panoramic bus ride. You'll see the Arch of Constantine, Colosseum exterior, Imperial Forums, Circus Maximus, Baths of Caracalla, Basilica of Saint Mary Major, Pyramid of Cestius, and Castel Sant'Angelo. By 11:00 a.m. you're at Vatican City where the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel are available if you want to add those on. That evening, you'll transfer to Trastevere for dinner and head back around 8:30 p.m.

- Day 3
Rome to Florence
You'll leave Rome early and drive north through the countryside toward Florence. Once you arrive, head straight to Piazzale Michelangelo for views out over the entire city and the Arno River below. From there, walk down into the historic center where you can grab lunch at whatever spot appeals to you. In the afternoon, join a local guide for a walking tour that covers Ponte Vecchio, the Duomo, and Piazza della Signoria. After that, you'll have time to wander around on your own and check out whatever catches your interest. By evening, pick from the many restaurants scattered throughout the area for dinner.

- Day 4
Florence - Venice
Today you're crossing the Apennines with mountain views along the way before arriving in Venice. You'll take a boat across the Giudecca Canal to reach Venice itself. With a local guide, you'll visit St. Mark's Square and tour the Murano Glass Factory to see how they make the glass. You get free time to explore on your own after that, and you'll be staying in the Mestre district.

- Day 5
Venice - Innsbruck - Kitzbuehel - Salzburg
Heading north into Austria, you'll stop in Innsbruck to walk through the historic center and have lunch. From there, scenic mountain roads take you to Kitzbühel, a famous ski resort where snow stays around for most of the year. Later, you'll continue on to Salzburg, getting there by evening.

- Day 6
Salzburg - Lake Traunsee - Vienna
Start your morning exploring Salzburg, Mozart's city with its Renaissance and Baroque architecture and the grand castle overlooking everything. You'll travel through lakes and mountains to St. Wolfgang, a well-known pilgrimage destination, then on to Traunkirchen on Traunsee Lake. An included cruise takes you out to see four of the lake's castles before you continue to Vienna, arriving in the evening.

Later, you'll transfer to Grinzing, an old wine-growing village that's now part of Vienna, where traditional taverns let you choose what and where you'd like to eat.
