Itinerary
- Day 1
Barcelona
You'll arrive in Barcelona and settle into your accommodation whenever works best. If you get there early, the city's galleries and cafes are worth a walk through, or grab a ride on the funicular up Montjuic or Tibidabo to catch the harbour views. At 6 pm there's a welcome meeting with vermouth, and after that you'll join the group for tapas dinner to start getting to know everyone.

- Day 2
Barcelona to Girona
Your leader takes you on an orientation walk through Barcelona with a local treat along the way. After that, the afternoon is yours to check out on your own—La Sagrada Familia or Park Guell are good options if you want to see Gaudi's work. Later you'll head to the train station and travel to Girona, where your leader walks you through the medieval streets by the Onyar River before you have free time to wander around on your own.

- Day 3
Girona
This morning you'll walk the medieval walls that circle Girona, built originally by Romans and rebuilt during the Middle Ages. From up there you get a bird's-eye look at the streets, river, and the Cathedral of San Felix below. The afternoon is free, so you might walk through the Arabic Baths, get gelato at Rocambolesc, or catch a Game of Thrones tour if that interests you. You'll find your own dinner spot in town.

Girona to Nimes to Avignon
After breakfast you'll head to Nimes in southeast France, and your leader takes you through town for orientation. The afternoon's yours to explore, or ask your leader about the Amphitheatre of Nimes, a really well-preserved Roman structure from around AD 100. In the evening you'll take the train to Avignon, check into your hotel, and walk around this walled city that once housed French popes.

- Day 5
Avignon
Start with an orientation walk through the local markets where fresh produce from the region is on display. From there, the day is yours to move through at your own pace—the Palais des Papes, the art collection, or walking across Pont St-Benezet bridge are all worth your time. If the weather cooperates, renting a bike to explore the valley and pop into local bakeries works well too. Later you'll gather with the group for dinner at a local bistro.

Dijon
You'll take the train to Dijon, the capital of Burgundy, and join a mustard-making workshop where a mustard master walks you through grinding seeds and mixing them with wine, vinegar and salt. You'll take home your own jar of custom Dijon mustard. The rest of your day is free—the Palace of the Dukes of Burgundy, the Church of Notre-Dame, or the Musee des Beaux-Arts are options to check out.

Paris
You'll travel by train to Paris and check into your hotel, then your leader gives you an orientation walk through the main streets before you have time to explore on your own. The Champs-Elysees, the Latin Quarter, or Montmartre are all within reach, and you might climb the Eiffel Tower, visit the Louvre, or spend time at the Musee d'Orsay. Later the group meets for dinner at a local restaurant.
