We chose this tour because we loved the idea of starting by the Atlantic coast and finishing in Fès, without taking the same route as everyone else. It turned out to be one of the best travel decisions we've ever made. Leaving the relaxed atmosphere of Essaouira behind, we watched Morocco completely transform over the next few days. Every few hours the scenery changed. We passed through valleys, old kasbahs, palm groves, mountain roads, and finally reached the golden dunes of the Sahara. The desert was unlike anything we had experienced before. We climbed the dunes just before sunset and stayed there until the sky turned dark. It was incredibly peaceful. That evening at the camp, surrounded by nothing but sand and stars, felt like a world away from everyday life. One thing I really appreciated was that the trip didn't feel rushed. We had enough time to enjoy each stop instead of simply getting back in the car after a few minutes. Sometimes we'd stop just because the view was too beautiful to ignore, and those unexpected breaks became some of our favorite memories.Show more
