I just got back from Ireland (first time there) where a college friend and I decided to book on with the Wild and Happy Celtic Voyage since we had done little to prepare for the trip ourselves and thought we'd chance letting someone else do the prep for us and travel with strangers (we were a small group of 8, sometimes 13, including the driver). It ended up being one of the best decisions we've ever made and there isn't room here to give all the reasons, but so many times during the trip, Trish (my friend) and I would just look at each other and say "we would've missed this, we never would've known to do this, we wouldn't have learned this" if we had decided to go it alone. Plus, we ended up saving so much money in bookings and rental car. All of the places we stayed (we did the B&B option, last night was in a 5-star hotel in Galway!) were very nice and included full, cooked-to-order breakfasts that were delicious, so many choices! Our group bonded very well (we were from the States, Canada, England, Germany and Australia) and many friendships were formed. I do have to say the highlight of the tour though was our driver, Drew! Even though a transplant to Ireland from England, he has so embraced the country and it's culture and people and had so many great stories that he shared along the way. He gave us a lot of history and geography of the places we visited as well and his personal stories and humor kept us all rolling! He went out of his way to make sure EVERYONE had a good time. If someone didn't want to do the hike or the kayak that particular day, he found other options for them and often joined them to ensure they got the most of their option. You can tell he loves his job and his enthusiasm was contagious. He even brought hurling bats out to Inch Beach when we went and tried to teach us the game. He kept us moving so we saw a lot, but also would defer to the group if we wanted to skip something or stay longer at a place. We also spent an afternoon with another Wild and Happy guide, John, who gave us a great tour of Valencia Island and knew so much about the area as he grew up there! We got to meet Michael, the owner, who joined us for the kayak trip to Innisfallen Island and also provided so much great history and inside info on the place. I could go on and on, but in summary, this was a wonderful tour and very affordable and I highly recommend it!!! Thanks Drew! (and John and Michael!)

Wonderful time despite a hurricane. Andy adjusted the schedule for us so we were out every day. He’s very knowledgeable and interesting. Laughed a lot and saw a lot. Loved that it was a small group not a large bus. Much more personal.

This was my first group tour of any kind and it was a blast! The itinerary had a good mix of sights and activities and many days you options to choose what you wanted to do you could do. For example I opted for the extra boat trip out to the Skellig Islands one day and I chose to do a little kayaking another day. Others in the group were able to do something else that fit what they wanted a bit better. What really made the trip though was our amazing guide Michael! Michael's passion when sharing his knowledge and love for his country of Ireland was amazing. Michael also had an instinct for the weather and when to get to certain sites to beat the crowds. Michael would often ask our group if we wanted to change up the itinerary to hit a spot earlier or switch this day with that day based on the weather. As a group we always took his suggestions and the trip was better for it. We had amazing views of the Cliffs of Moher, Inch beach, the Skellig Islands and more. The only down side of the tour was that it was technically advertised and offered as a maximum group of 16 people on the tour. We had 20 people in our group which made the van a bit stuffier and crowded but we easily managed. I highly look forward to my next adventure!

This was my first group tour of any kind and it was a blast. Our guide Michael was an awesome guide. He was would suggest to our group that we move things around on the itinerary based on weather or number of people expected at certain sites. Our group always went with his suggestions and his intuition was spot on every time. We were able to see many sites with lower numbers of people present and his weather instincts provided us gorgeous views of the Cliffs of Moher, the Skellig Islands, Inch beach, and many other sites. Micheal's passion and love for his country was evident and welcomed. I loved how much he loved sharing his knowledge. The little additions that you can make for many days on the tour were nice and there were a variety of activities. The only down side is that the tour was technically offered and advertised as a 16 person maximum trip. We ended up with 20 in our group which made the van a bit stuffer and more crowded but we still managed fine. I meet some wonderful individuals on my tour and look forward to my next adventure!

I love Tour Radar. They gave me all the support when I needed contacting the agent themselves to solve my problems while I was on the trip. The response was always quick and I also got the best deals, always cheaper than with the operator. Can't fault it really. Just booked my second trip with them this week.
