Regarding adding an overnight stay at Lake Mansarovar, if you would like to extend your stay before or after the group tour dates, please note that Tibet has special regulations for foreign travelers. Any additional days outside the official group itinerary cannot be spent independently; a private vehicle local assistance/guide arrangement would be required. Foreign visitors are not allowed to travel freely in Tibet beyond the approved group itinerary. For this reason, many of our guests choose to arrive in Chengdu a few days earlier or stay in Chengdu after the tour, then join the Tibet group tour on the scheduled date. This option is much easier and more flexible, and it avoids the additional cost of arranging private transportation and guide services outside the group tour. For vegetarian meals, we can certainly help note this request and inform our team in advance so they can make the necessary arrangements during the tour.

The only reason I have 4 stars, was due to the disgusting hotel, you provided in Guilin. It was dirty, also infested with cockroache, and I’m pretty sure they were rats, that the owner disposed, whilst we were having our dinner, hence I booked myself into a nearby hotel called Vienna. I think for future reference, you do not use The River Lodge in Guangzi. It fid spoil my holiday a little, considering all the other hotels you provided were good!Show more

Overall my itinerary was excellent with the key highlights of the visited cities and areas. The accommodation was to a very acceptable standard, especially the Beijing and Zhangjiajie hotels. My only grievance was the hotel in Yangshuo. Firstly, the location was in the middle of nowhere so it left us isolated and unable to do much in the way of activities in the evening. A more preferred location would be closer to West Street where we could have had the opportunity to stroll back there to visit the shops and grab a dinner. Secondly, the hygiene standard was well below par. My sister, Linda, had the misfortune to witness two creatures being removed with long tongs from the property. Although the Manager explained that they were toads, my sister informed me that both creatures had long tails and looked more like rats! She chose to move to the Vienna Hotel at her own expense but she was finally refunded by the tour operator. I understood that we were deep in the countryside and it is inevitable that some creatures may enter the property but it is unacceptable that the Manager fabricated this story relating to the event. Nevertheless, the other accommodations were to a decent standard (Xi-an hotel's mattress for fold out bed was very poor), it is hard for me to fathom why the tour operator would choose such a hotel which is of such a low standard in comparison to the others in terms of the inconvenient location and the poor hygiene. Furthermore, we found a huge cockroach in our room! As for the tour guides, they were excellent. Candy in Beijing, Jenny in Xi-an, Summer in Chengdu, Marco in Guilin, Olivia in Zhangjiajie and Aylin in Shanghai were extremely knowledgeable of the given areas and sites, and on the whole, were courteous and friendly. I'd like to give a major shout-out to Candy who had a very kind and sweet composure, Marco who had an excellent command of the English language, and Summer and Aylin who were both very enthusiastic and gave a wealth of information en-route to the locations. On our arrival to Shanghai, we were received by a young guide called Alex. He was only with us for the journey to our hotel but admittedly, he was very good and knowledgeable and provided a lot of interesting details for that short length of time that he was with us. The breakfasts and lunches were great with the exception of the buffet at the Mutianyu Great Wall. As there was not enough space indoors, the buffet was set up outside so the food had been left out in the sun for quite sometime which obviously, not the best of conditions to leave food. In conclusion, my memories of the vacation were very positive but the negatives outlined above are to help you to improve in these areas which can slightly mar the overall experience of the trip.Show more
