Itinerary
- Day 1
Bucharest to Sibiu
Your hotel pickup happens at 9:00 AM in Bucharest, and from there you'll head to Curtea de Arges to see the historic monastery. The drive takes you along the Transfagarasan Highway, which cuts through the Fagaras Mountains with some really nice scenery. By afternoon you'll arrive in Sibiu, check into your hotel, and take a walking tour through the Old Town.

- Day 2
Sibiu to Cluj-Napoca
After breakfast, you're visiting Corvin Castle in Hunedoara, then heading to Alba Iulia to check out Alba Carolina Fortress. The Turda Salt Mine comes next, which has some interesting underground features. Later in the day you'll reach Cluj-Napoca and walk through the Old Town. You'll have free time to wander the cafes and restaurants on your own.

Cluj-Napoca to Voronet
The route takes you toward Bucovina, with a stop in Bistrita for a short tour and a visit to a local bakery. Then you'll go to Voronet Monastery to see the vivid frescoes and the distinctive blue color they're known for. The evening wraps up with a traditional Romanian dinner.

Voronet to Iasi
You're exploring more of Bucovina's painted monasteries starting with Moldovita, a UNESCO World Heritage site. From there, Sucevita Monastery is next on the itinerary. Later you'll travel to Iasi for a short evening tour and check into your hotel.

Iasi to Piatra Neamt
Iasi gets a more thorough look today, with visits to the Neo-Gothic Palace of Culture, the Metropolitan Cathedral, and the Three Hierarchs Church. After that you'll drive to Targu Neamt to see the medieval Neamt Citadel. By evening you'll reach Piatra Neamt, take a scenic cable car ride, and settle into your hotel.

Piatra Neamt to Sighisoara
The drive takes you through the Bicaz Gorges, and there's a stop at the Red Lake. Next is Corund to see traditional pottery and crafts. Then you'll reach Biertan, a Saxon village with a fortified church that's a UNESCO site. The day ends in Sighisoara, which has Europe's last inhabited medieval citadel.

Sighisoara to Brasov
You'll spend time in Sighisoara's medieval citadel, including the Clock Tower and History Museum. Then you're heading to Viscri, a village that's kept its traditions alive pretty well. There's a visit to its fortified church and a chance to meet locals who are known for their culinary and craft skills. By afternoon you'll arrive in Brasov for a short walking tour.

Brasov to Bucharest
The Brasov tour continues with Council Square and the Black Church, which is Romania's largest Gothic church. After that comes Bran Castle, which has ties to Dracula legends. Your last stop is Sinaia to see Peles Castle, a Neo-Renaissance building that was Europe's first fully electrified castle. You'll return to Bucharest later in the evening.

Bucharest
