Actually we did Mount Sinai & St. Catherine form Sharm el Sheik, but it was not offered fto leave a review... Nach dem ich vor acht Jahren bereits mit Memphis Tours eine Privattour von Sharm el Sheikh nach Petra/Jordanien gebucht hatte - wo Anfangs vergessen wurde, dass wir "privat" gebucht hatten und die erste Hälfte der Reise in einer Riesengruppe verbracht haben - erst auf Nachfragen unsererseits wurde dann für die zweite Hälfte ein privates Fahrzeug und Guide organisiert und das war dann sehr schön. Somit hab ich Ihnen nun noch eine Chance gegeben. Wir waren 5 Personen im Urlaub in Sharm el Sheikh - 3 Personen wollten in der Nacht auf den Berg Moses um den Sonnenaufgang dort zu sehen, die anderen beiden sollten in der Früh vom Hotel abgeholt werden und uns drei nach der Rückkehr vom Berg im Katharinenkloster für einen gemeinsamen Besuch dort treffen. Wurde mir auch von der Reiseberaterin bestätigt, dass das möglich ist. Ich habe die Tour bestätigt und anbezahlt, Restbetrag könnte ich in bar oder Kreditkarte beim Guide am Tag des Ausfluges zahlen, Reiseunterlagen würde ich 14 Tage vor der Reise erhalten. Als ich 3 Tage vor der Reise noch nichts bekommen habe, habe ich mal nachgefragt - da hieß es sie war krank und die Unterlagen kommen noch. Dann wurde plötzlich vorgeschlagen, dass die beiden "nur Klosterbesucher" schon in der Nacht mitfahren und am Kloster im Hotel warten oder um 5 Uhr in Sharm wegfahren, dann müssten wir aber auch getrennt zurückfahren. Da haben wir befunden, wir verzichten auf die gemeinsame Fahrt und gönnen den beiden lieber etwas mehr Schlaf. Soweit, so gut. Im Hotel habe ich Weckrufe usw. für die beiden bestellt und auch die Abholung bei der Security angemeldet (weil die beiden anderen kein Englisch sprechen), nur um auf der Bestätigung, die dann wieder zwei Tage später kam zu sehen, dass die Abholzet auf 5:30 Uhr verschoben wurde, also wieder alles ändern... Wir Berg-Moses Besucher wurden am Vorabend relativ pünktlich abgeholt, Fahrzeug und Fahrer ok, Guide wirkte auch ok. Da wir den Aufstieg in der Nacht vor uns hatten, wollten wir die drei Stunden Fahrt etwas zum Schlafen nutzen. Unterwegs fragt mich der Guide nach der Restzahlung, ich will ihm meine Kreditkarte geben - nein, er braucht Bargeld - was wir in dieser Summe nicht mithaben. Ich zeige auch die Bestätigung, dass die Zahlung mit Kreditkarte möglich ist. Na dann sollte ich es halt über ihre Internetseite zahlen. Bei den Roamingkosten in Ägypten gehe ich sicher nicht mit dem Handy mobil ins Internet. Also meinte er, sie haben Wlan im Auto - das dauert ewig bis es endlich ging. Und dann gerade als ich von Betrag senden geklickt habe brach die Verbindung ab - kein Wunder bei den Bergen im Sinai, durch die wir gefahren sind.... Ich sollte es halt nocheinmal schicken, meinte der Guide. Ich aber sagte ihm, ich schaue erst bei meiner Bank nach, da ich nicht sicher war, ob die Zahlung vorher noch durchgegangen ist oder nicht. Also schon da Diskussionen und von Schlaf keine Rede. Für den Aufstieg hatten wir einen anderen (Beduinen) Guide, der war sehr nett und alles hat geklappt unser deutschsprachiger Guide blieb beim Kloster im Hotel und meinte wir sehen uns um 8:30 Uhr mit den beiden anderen. Als wir vom Berg herunter kamen ins Kloster, kurz nach 8 Uhr hat unser Beduinen-Guide den anderen tel. verständigt, da hieß es die anderen beiden Gäste sind schon am Parkplatz und gleich da. Nach ca. 30 Minuten kam unser deutschsprachiger Guide zu uns, mit der selben Aussage... Es dauerte bis 9:45 Uhr bis die anderen beiden da waren. Uns wurde aber immer wieder gesagt, sie sind schon am Weg vom Parkplatz zum Kloster.... Nach dem anstrengendem aber sehr schönen Besuch am Berg Moses war diese Wartezeit für uns Horror - wir waren total übermüdet. Dann haben wir erfahren, dass wir es nicht schaffen im ersten Konvoi wieder nach Sharm zurückzufahren, weil die anderen beiden zu spät sind und wir nach dem Besuch im Kloster wieder sinnlos warten müssen. Alternativ hat der Guide vorgeschlagen, den Besuch des Klosters in 15 Minuten abzuwickeln, das wäre eine lohnender Ausflug für die beiden anderen gewesen 7,5 Stunden fahrt, 15 Minuten Klosterbesuch.... tolle Idee! Auch wurde uns, als die Wartezeit länger wurde erklärt, dass die beiden im Stau stehen, an Baustellen warten müssen... Nichts davon hat gestimmt. Sie wurden lediglich zu spät abgeholt, weil die ursprüngliche Zeit verschoben wurde und sie auch zu dieser nicht pünktlich weggekommen sind. Es waren keine langen Stops oder Behinderungen unterwegs. Endlich am Parkplatz angekommen, hieß es, sie dürften doch in unserem Auto mit zurückfahren, dass andere würde gleich fahren - sie hatten aber etwas Proviant und Getränke mit und Pullover, da es in der Früh kühler war, die im Fahrzeug bleiben sollten, nur der Fahrer von unserem Fahrzeug war nicht aufzufinden. So wurde einfach durch SEHR SCHLECHTE ORGANISATION eine sinnlose und ärgerliche Wartezeit für uns alle geschaffen. Und wenn ich einen Ausflug privat buche und nicht in der Gruppe lege ich Wert auf Individualität. Auf der Rückfahrt ging dann das leidige Thema der Zahlung weiter, ich habe gebeten, dass der Guide die Kollegin im Büro anruft und ich mit ihr sprechen kann, das geschah nicht. Als ich halbwegs Verbindung hatte, konnte ich nachschauen, dass die Zahlung noch nicht durchgegangen ist. Ein weiterer Versuch scheiterte wieder am Abbruch der Wlan Verbindung. Daraufhin habe ich festgestellt, ich tätige die Zahlung nach der Rückkehr im Hotel noch am selben Tag, aber in Ruhe am Abend - denn ich wollte nurmehr ins Wasser und etwas entspannen bei einer bereits vereinbarten Massage im Spa - zu der wir durch die Verzögerungen fast zu spät gekommen sind. das hat der Guide dann auch soweit akzeptiert - denn es war seine Schuld, dass er nicht vor Abfahrt im Hotel die Internetzahlung verlangt hat - ich konnte ja nicht wissen, dass er kein Kreditkarten terminal hat. Auch hätte man uns sagen können, ich soll die Internetzahlung einen Tag vor dem Ausflug durchführen, auch kein Problem, aber das war einfach nervig und unschön, aber leider noch nicht alles.... Am frühen Abend bombardiert mich ein Mitarbeiter von Memphis Tours mit Whats App Nachrichten wann ich endlich zahle und dass er jetzt ins Hotel kommt. Dazu kam dann die Beraterin vom Buchen, die auch Nachrichten geschrieben hat, was mit der Zahlung ist. Sie hat das falsch kommuniziert, ich hätte auch von Anfang an den kompletten Betrag bezahlt, aber wenn sie mir sagt, das geht mit Karte am Tag des Ausfluges, verlasse ich mich darauf. Die Agentur hatte meine Adresse, unseren Aufenthaltsort und Zeit, Passkopien und haben uns behandelt wie Zechpreller. Dabei habe ich die Mitarbeiterin noch hingewiesen, dass Sie sich bei Aufteilung von Anzahlung und Restzahlung um fast 100 EUR zu unseren Gunsten verrechnet hat - hätte ich auch übersehen können - aber ich lege wert auf faire Geschäftsbeziehungen. Nach weiteren Nachrichten stand dann der Mitarbeiter in der Lobby und verlangte nach mir, so dass ich früher aus dem Spa Termin musste. Ich habe dann vor seinen Augen die Internetzahlung, die ich 30 Minuten später auch allein gemacht hätte, durchgeführt. Nur nach dem schlecht organisiertem Tag, wollte ich auch den späten Nachmittag genießen, der uns noch blieb und nach Stunden Diskussionen und keiner Ruhe während der Fahrt endlich mal kurz Frieden haben - aber Nein, Memphis Tours hat auch den Rest des Tages ruiniert. Absolut nicht zu empfehlen, da weiß einer nicht, was der andere tut und auf keinen ist verlass!!Show more

A friend and I went to Cairo, Giza, and Nile cruise from Luxor to Aswan with Memphis tours. These guys made the trip so easy and enjoyable. We never had to worry about the little things and they took care of everything for us. There were some activities that only one of us wanted to participate in and overlapped with the other persons plan, but they made it work seamlessly. The tour Leader and guides are very knowledgable and taught us a lot about the local culture, traditions, and history. The hotels and activities were fabulous. I was hesitant at using a tour company, wasn't sure why I would pay for someone to do something that I could do just as easily. After this trip I am a believer of using tour companies. I would recommend this company to anyone consider traveling to the areas they serve.Show more
