It was a very active trip, with lots of walking….not for the faint hearted! As you have to carry your luggage up and down a lots of stairs at train stations and hotels without lifts, you need to be able to lift and carry it yourself. Travel light! Food was good, there was plenty of time to do our own wandering ( and laundry) etc Two or 3 nights in most hotels was very good.Would definitely recommend an Intrepid holiday to anyone who wants to be on the move, learn about the places you are in and see a few places off the beaten path!Show more

It wasn’t the Orient Express (couldn’t afford that), but it was a wonderful tour with a small group of amazing travellers and guide. It was well organised and the guide took good care of us all. I have no hesitation in recommending the tour, as long as you ensure you have a medium level of fitness (high level for old people - I’m 75). There is a lot of walking with hills, stairs and cobbled streets.Show more
