Mexico City
You'll arrive at Mexico City International Airport and meet your tour representative for a shared transfer to the hotel. After checking in, the rest of the day is yours to do as you like, whether that's wandering through the city's vibrant neighborhoods or staying put at the hotel.

- Day 2
Mexico City
Following breakfast, your guide meets you at 8:00 am to walk through Mexico City's main square (Zocalo), where you'll see the cathedral and presidential palace. Next comes the National Anthropology Museum with a guided tour of 11 sections covering artifacts from different civilizations, including the famous Aztec sunstone and Mayan murals. You'll head back to the hotel for dinner at Bellini's (adults only).

Mexico City
Breakfast at the hotel comes first, then you travel to the well-preserved ruins of Teotihuacan to check out the 2,000-year-old Pyramid of the Sun and other ancient structures. You'll have free time to climb one of the pyramids for panoramic views. After that, stop at the Guadalupe shrine to see both the old and new basilicas before returning to the hotel for the rest of the day at your own pace.

Mexico City to San Cristobal de las Casas
After breakfast, you transfer to Mexico City Airport for a domestic flight to Tuxtla Gutierrez (airfare not included). Upon arrival by 1:00 pm, your representative meets you and takes you to Sumidero Canyon for a two-hour boat tour through this gorge carved by the River Grijalva. You'll spot crocodiles, monkeys, and birds while seeing the lush rainforest vegetation before continuing to San Cristobal de las Casas.

San Cristobal de las Casas
After breakfast, you head to San Juan Chamula to see the whitewashed cathedral with colorful ornamentation and candlelit interior, where local Tzotzil Maya religious rituals and traditional clothing are visible. Browse the local shops and markets known for their quality weaving. Back in San Cristobal, the afternoon is leisurely, giving you time to visit the baroque church of Santo Domingo and explore the colorful art and food markets.

San Cristobal de las Casas to Palenque
You depart early for Palenque with breakfast provided along the way. Heading northeast toward Chiapas, you'll reach impressive waterfalls where you can bring your swimsuit for a refreshing dip in the natural pools with bright blue water. After enjoying the waterfalls, continue to Palenque, arriving in the afternoon to check in and relax.

- Day 7
Palenque to Campeche
Following breakfast, you take a guided tour of the Temples of Palenque, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with fine examples of Mayan architecture. You'll visit the impressive Temple of Inscriptions (approximately 23 meters high) where a Maya ruler's tomb was discovered, plus the Palace, Temple of the Count, and Temple of the Cross. Then continue to Campeche and check in to your hotel.

Campeche to Merida
After breakfast, you get a panoramic tour of Campeche's historic coastal old town featuring colonial houses, arcades, and churches. You'll explore on foot, including the old city walls and St Francis' Cathedral. From there, continue to Uxmal, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with the impressive 35-meter Pyramid of the Magician, the well-preserved Nunnery Quadrangle, and the Governor's Palace. Finish with a panoramic tour of Merida, visiting residential areas, the monument to the homeland, and Montejo Avenue.

- Day 9
Merida
After breakfast, you visit three of the most beautiful cenotes in the Cenote Ring area of Yucatan. You'll learn about the theory of an asteroid's impact 65 million years ago and its connection to the Maya civilization. Swim and snorkel in the crystal-clear waters of these natural formations, then enjoy lunch before returning to Merida.

Merida to Chichen Itza
Breakfast starts the day, then you head into the Yucatan rainforests to explore Chichen Itza, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. You'll see the 25-meter Temple of Kukulkan (El Castillo) with its geometric perfection and serpent optical illusion during equinoxes, plus the Great Ball Court, Skull Platform, and Sacred Cenote. Lunch at a typical restaurant follows before you continue to your hotel in Chichen Itza (Piste).

After breakfast, you head to the Maya Train station to board the modern Tren Maya for a journey through the Yucatan Peninsula. The scenery shifts from dense jungle to wide-open plains and vibrant towns along the way. Upon arrival at Tulum station, you transfer to your hotel, check in, and enjoy the rest of the afternoon at leisure exploring the laid-back atmosphere.

- Day 12
Tulum
The full day in Tulum is yours to use however you'd like. Relax on the beach, swim in crystal-clear waters, or take in the laid-back atmosphere. If history and nature interest you, Parque El Jaguar has the Tulum archaeological site perched on a cliff overlooking the Caribbean Sea, with jungle trails through the surrounding area.
