Rio de Janeiro
You'll arrive in Rio de Janeiro and get settled into your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to explore at your own pace, so you can wander around the neighborhood, grab a bite, or just relax after your journey.
- Day 2
Rio de Janeiro
After sleeping in a bit, you'll meet your tour director at 3:30pm for the drive to Sugarloaf Mountain. From there, the cable car takes you up for views of Rio's coastline and Guanabara Bay. Later, you'll celebrate with a traditional caipirinha cocktail party right there overlooking the water.

Rio de Janeiro
The morning starts with a cog railway ride to Corcovado Mountain's summit to see the Christ the Redeemer statue and take in 360-degree views. After that, you'll head downtown to check out the Sambodromo and Cathedral, seeing both the colonial past and modern architecture. The afternoon is free to explore on your own before dinner at a traditional churrascaria where you'll feast on Brazilian barbecued meats.

- Day 5
Rio de Janeiro to Iguassu Falls
You'll fly to Iguassu Falls and explore the Brazilian side of Iguassu National Park with a local guide. Walking the pathways along the 2-mile-wide torrent of water, you'll watch for toucans, agoutis, giant otters, anteaters, tapirs, and jaguars. The cataracts themselves reach heights of about 250 feet.

Iguassu Falls (Argentine side)
After crossing the border by motorcoach to the Argentine side, you'll walk the catwalks above the Devil's Throat and see water plunge over 300 feet below. Then you'll explore the rainforest on the lower falls trails to see smaller cataracts up close. By evening, you're back at your hotel for a relaxed afternoon and dinner.

Iguassu Falls to Buenos Aires
You'll cross into Argentina by motorcoach and head to Cataratas del Iguazu International Airport for your flight to Buenos Aires. Once you land, you can start getting to know the city, walking along its wide boulevards and checking out the outdoor cafes that give it that European feel.

Buenos Aires
A guided tour takes you through Buenos Aires' most important neighborhoods. You'll see La Boca's colorful waterfront, browse San Telmo's colonial buildings and artist spaces, visit Plaza de Mayo with La Casa Rosada, and drive past the ornate Teatro Colón. After some free time, the evening includes a tango club with a dance lesson, Argentine steak dinner, and a professional show.

You'll head out to a working Argentine estancia in the pampas grasslands. After a traditional welcome with empanadas and local drinks, a carriage ride takes you through the countryside to learn about gaucho life. Lunch features Argentine beef with salad and desserts, all accompanied by live gaucho music and dancing. Before heading back to the city, you'll see an equestrian demonstration.

Lima
A guided tour covers Lima's colonial history and modern side. You'll see the 18th-century San Francisco Monastery with its unique cloisters, the Government Palace, and the Cathedral around Plaza de Armas. In the evening, you'll visit the Larco Herrera Museum, which holds the world's largest private collection of Pre-Columbian Peruvian art, and have dinner at the museum's restaurant.

You'll fly to Cusco, the former Inca capital, then travel into the Sacred Valley. The day includes stops at the Kenko Amphitheater with its stone altars and passages, plus the ancient site of Puca Pucara. A local shaman leads an El Pago a la Tierra ceremony. Later, you'll reach the mountain village of Pisaq to browse the market for alpaca sweaters, jewelry, and crafts, and try authentic empanadas. You'll stay overnight in the Sacred Valley with dinner at your hotel.

The Vistadome train takes you through the lush Urubamba Valley up to Machu Picchu, where your guide explains the ruins, temples, and the mile-long aqueduct. Later, you'll learn to make a Pisco Sour at a cooking demonstration before dinner at the Sumaq Machu Picchu Hotel.

Wake up early to see Machu Picchu at its quietest before the crowds arrive. You'll watch the sunrise over the ruins and use your second included entrance to explore more thoroughly. You might even spot local llamas or alpacas. After lunch, the train takes you back through the Sacred Valley to Cusco.

Cusco
A guided tour shows you Cusco's Inca and Spanish influences. You'll start at Plaza de Armas to visit the Cathedral (started in 1550, finished 100 years later), see how the Koricancha Temple of the Sun and Santo Domingo Monastery merged into one complex, and check out the Temple of Sacsayhuaman perched on a hillside with its gigantic 350-ton stones. The afternoon is free to explore before a farewell dinner hosted by your tour director.
