Itinerary
- Day 1
Tuxtla Gutierrez to San Cristobal de las Casas
You'll arrive at Tuxtla Gutierrez Airport and head straight into a two-hour boat tour through Sumidero Canyon. The gorge cuts deep with towering walls on either side, and you'll spot crocodiles lounging on rocks, monkeys swinging overhead, and various birds moving through the rainforest canopy. After the boat tour, you'll transfer to your hotel in San Cristobal de las Casas, which sits at about 7,000 feet elevation in the highlands.

- Day 2
San Cristobal de las Casas
Breakfast comes first, then you'll head to San Juan Chamula to see the whitewashed cathedral with its colorful interior and pine-scented candles burning during local Tzotzil Maya rituals. The town's weavers display their work in markets around the plaza. Later in the afternoon, you'll return to San Cristobal where you can check out the baroque Santo Domingo church on your own time and walk through the colorful art and food markets nearby.

- Day 3
San Cristobal de las Casas to Palenque
You'll leave early with breakfast provided along the way as you travel northeast toward Palenque. The route takes you past several waterfalls in Chiapas with bright blue natural pools, so you'll have time for a swim in the refreshing water. By afternoon you'll reach Palenque and check into your hotel, leaving the evening free to relax or walk around town.

- Day 4
Palenque to Campeche
After breakfast you'll join a guided tour of Palenque's archaeological site. The Temple of Inscriptions stands nearly 23 meters tall and contains a Maya ruler's tomb that was excavated in the 1950s. You'll also see the Palace, Temple of the Count, and Temple of the Cross, all featuring detailed Mayan stonework and carved decorations. Late afternoon brings a drive to Campeche where you'll check in at your hotel.

Uxmal - Merida
The day starts with a panoramic drive through historic coastal Campeche, viewing colonial houses and churches along the old streets. You'll then walk through the town walls and visit St Francis' Cathedral. From there, you head to Uxmal, a UNESCO site featuring the 35-meter Pyramid of the Magician and the well-preserved Nunnery Quadrangle. Later you'll reach Merida for a tour of residential neighborhoods and Montejo Avenue's colonial architecture.

Merida to Chichen Itza
Breakfast precedes your drive into the Yucatan rainforests toward Chichen Itza. You'll see the 25-meter Temple of Kukulkan with its geometric design and the Great Ball Court carved into the landscape. The Skull Platform offers a look at Maya history, and the Sacred Cenote sits nearby. Lunch at a local restaurant follows the tour before you check into your hotel near the site.

This modern, air-conditioned train takes you toward Cancun Airport with views of dense Yucatan jungles, cenotes, and traditional villages passing by your window. The train ride provides a relaxed way to finish your trip before flying out.
