Varanasi
You'll arrive in Varanasi whenever works for your schedule. Later in the evening, you'll meet your CEO and the rest of the group for a welcome meeting. After that, there's an orientation walk around the city so you can get your bearings before heading out for your first night together.

- Day 2
Varanasi
Start the morning with a boat tour on the sacred Ganges River to see the candle flower ceremony. The rest of the day is completely yours to do what calls to you. You could bathe in the sacred waters, visit the Golden Temple dedicated to Shiva, or just wander through this spiritual capital. There are optional guided tours you can book in advance if you want deeper cultural insights.

Varanasi to Lumbini
Today you're leaving India and heading to Nepal, which means a longer travel day of about 12 hours total. You'll take a 6-hour train ride and then a private vehicle transfer to reach Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha. Once there, you'll visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site and the Maya Devi Temple where Siddhartha Gautama was actually born.

Landmarks Maya Devi Temple Lumbini - Day 4
Lumbini to Barauli Village
You'll travel to Barauli Village to experience what daily life is actually like in rural Nepal. You're staying at a G Adventures-supported community guesthouse here. An orientation walk takes you to local homes so you can learn about Tharu daily life and culture directly from the people who live it. There's an optional cycle tour available if you want to head out to the Narayani River.

- Day 5
Barauli Village
You have a free day to explore the village and rice paddies at your own pace, and then you'll spend another night with the Tharu community. If you're interested, there's an optional jeep safari through Chitwan National Park where you might spot rhinos, crocodiles, and monkeys. With some luck, you could even see a Bengal tiger.

Barauli Village to Pokhara
You're traveling from the peaceful plains toward the Himalayan mountains today, heading to Pokhara. Once you arrive, a guided walk helps you get oriented around town. There's a group photo opportunity with the Annapurna mountain range as your backdrop, which makes for a pretty incredible shot.

Pokhara
Begin your day at Sharing Seeds with breakfast while learning how the cafe sources organic arabica coffee and supports local beekeeping initiatives. The afternoon is yours to wander around Pokhara however you'd like, so you can check out whatever interests you most. Later in the evening, you'll meet up with your group at a lakeside bar to wind down and share stories from the trip.

Pokhara to Kathmandu
You're traveling through wild, rugged Himalayan landscape toward Kathmandu, Nepal's capital. You can travel by vehicle or choose to fly if you want more time in the city. After everyone arrives, there's an orientation walk to get your bearings. Then you can wander the city and check out Durbar Square, King's Palace, Pashupatinath's burning ghats, or Boudhanath Stupa. An optional farewell meal with your group can cap off the day if you want.
