Auckland
You'll arrive in Auckland and have time to check out the two harbours on your own terms. Grab a drink somewhere with good views, then head to your welcome briefing and drinks with your Travel Director and the rest of the group this evening.

- Day 2
Auckland to Bay of Islands
Head north to the Bay of Islands, where you'll see 140 islands and turquoise waters. You'll visit the Treaty of Waitangi grounds where this important historical document was signed in 1840. A local specialist, possibly a descendant of the original signatories, will show you around the site, the world's largest ceremonial war canoe, and a carved meeting house.

Bay of Islands
The Bay of Islands has several options for you. You can journey to Cape Reinga/Te Rerenga Wairua at New Zealand's northernmost point via Ninety Mile Beach, or take a cruise around the 144 islands with lunch and a stop at the hole in the rock. There's also a guided tour of Russell available to learn about early settlement history in the area.

Bay of Islands to Whangarei
Travel to Whangarei, New Zealand's northernmost city. Walk through quirky galleries and museums at your own pace, seeing a mix of nature and forward-thinking culture. Later in the day you'll head back to Auckland on a scenic drive.

Landmarks Whangarei - Day 5
Auckland to Rotorua
Start with a city sights tour of Auckland, then travel toward the Waikato River and Waitomo Caves. You'll cruise through underground waterways lit by thousands of glowworms. After that, continue to Rotorua to see geothermal features like bubbling geysers and steam vents. This evening you'll experience Maori culture at Te Po Indigenous Experience at Te Puia, which includes a cultural performance, views of Pohutu Geyser, and a hangi-inspired buffet dinner.

Today is flexible so you can explore Rotorua on your own terms. Your Travel Director can offer recommendations. You might relax at Wai Ariki Hot Springs and Spa, or visit Hobbiton to see The Lord of the Rings movie locations in the New Zealand countryside.

Rotorua to Wellington
See the dramatic Huka Falls, where 220,000 litres of water crash over an 11-metre waterfall every second. From there you'll take in the vivid blue waters of Lake Taupo. Then you'll travel across the Kapiti Coast to Wellington, New Zealand's cool capital. This evening you'll have drinks with your Travel Director to toast the adventure.

Wellington
Start your final day with a coffee at one of Wellington's cool cafes, then join a city sights tour. You'll say goodbye to your crew, and if there's time, you can visit Te Papa, the Museum of New Zealand, to check out Maori culture before you depart.
