The South Island beckons with 7 key destinations across 406km. Visitors will see Christchurch's Botanic Gardens, Lake Tekapo's Church of Good Shepherd, Wanaka's #thatwanakatree, and Franz Josef's glacier panoramas, plus TranzAlpine train through Arthur's Pass.

Christchurch & Lake Tekapo
Start in Christchurch and explore the innovative rebuild after the earthquake. Visit the cardboard cathedral early in the morning for the best experience. On day 2, take the 3-hour drive to Lake Tekapo. Plan to arrive in the mid-afternoon to see the lupins surrounding the turquoise lake. Get to the Church of the Good Shepherd before 9 AM to avoid crowds and take peaceful photos.

- Days 3-4
Queenstown Adventure
Drive 4 hours through the Mackenzie Basin to reach Queenstown. Make a stop at Kawarau Gorge to see the original commercial bungy jumping site. Stay in central Queenstown to easily access everything. Take the Queenstown Gondola early in the morning to skip the lines and get the best views. Visit the Gibbston Valley wineries but book a driver or tour. The roads can be challenging after wine tasting.

Wanaka Exploration
Check weather conditions before taking the Crown Range road to Wanaka. It can get icy and steep. Get up early to photograph the famous Wanaka tree at sunrise when the lake is still. Book the Mou Waho Island trip ahead of time and wear good walking shoes. A recent visitor shared: "The hidden lake at the summit was incredible, but the track is steeper than expected. Bring lots of water and start early before it heats up."

Book helicopter glacier tours early as weather often affects schedules. Visit the hot pools after 7 PM when they're less busy. What people love about 10-day New Zealand tours
- Contrasts Of New Zealand
The trip was up to expectation. Well organized. Guides were great. Drivers were great. Overall it really was a wonderful experience.
- New Zealand North Island: Haka & Hot Springs
Our guide aND driver was amazing The tour was exactly as described. However, tongariro park should be an optional excursion. Not everyone wants to hike 19km and there were no other options for the day. Also, the skotel should not be used for accommodation. The skotel was the worst. There were two bathrooms and two showers for thirty women. Also, there was nothing to keep anyone entertained at the skotel.
- NEW ZEALAND – 10 Days Highlights of North and South Islands
This tour is designed with solo travelers in mind. I've solo traveled through Japan, Malaysia, and Taiwan. This tour takes the stress out of logistics planning to create a seamless and enjoyable travel experience. Places such as Japan have impeccable public transit, which makes getting around easy. New Zealand, however, requires a lot of driving to reach highly sought-after hotspots. As a solo-traveler, renting a car and driving several hours a day wasn't ideal. New Zealand thankfully offers bus/couch tours to get travelers where they want to go. BucketList builds an itinerary off these tour schedules to create an experience that is seamless and blends these schedules to together to maximize the traveler's experience. Every morning, all I had to do was show up to the rendezvous. The tour guides will stop for breakfast at a cafe, so don't worry if the pick up times are extraordinarily early. Get in some extra Zs and before you know it, it's time for some brekkie. Aside from sewing together a seamless tour experience, the hotels picked by BucketList were clean and comfortable. While these are not 5 Star accommodations, BucketList did not cheap out with cheap motels, either. The accommodations were conveniently located, friendly staff, included breakfast (if offered by the accommodation), and clean. The only downside to this itinerary is it can feel a bit rushed. This is because each tour day is roughly 12 hours, which doesn't leave much time to explore Queenstown, for example. I was able to look around a little bit the day I arrived in Queenstown, however for the other days I came back too late to look around the shops. If you're only interested in the night life of Queenstown, this may be okay, keeping in mind there is an early start each day.
