Itinerary
- Day 1
Colombo to Habarana
You'll land at Bandaranaike International Airport in Colombo where your tour leader meets you. On the drive to Habarana, there's a stop at Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, located about 13 km northwest of Kegalle, so you can see the rescued elephants there. After arriving at the Habarana Hotel, you'll settle in and have the rest of the day to yourself.

Habarana - Sigiriya - Habarana
Following breakfast, head out to Sigiriya Rock Fortress, an ancient site known for its frescoes and views from the 8th century. From there you'll travel to Dambulla to check out the Golden Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with several cave temples carved into rock. You're back at the Habarana Hotel by evening.

Habarana to Kandy
After breakfast, travel toward Kandy, stopping at the Matale Spice Garden to learn how Sri Lanka grows and uses its famous spices. Once in Kandy, you'll walk through the Tooth Relic Temple (Sri Dalada Maligawa), which holds a sacred tooth of Buddha. Check into your Kandy hotel for the night.

- Day 4
Kandy to Nuwara Eliya
Heading toward Nuwara Eliya after breakfast, you'll stop at Ramboda Falls to see the multi-layered waterfall and watch butterflies, then visit the Hanuman Temple with its 16-foot statue. In Nuwara Eliya, walk through a tea plantation and tea factory to understand how Ceylon Tea is made. Your hotel check-in happens later that evening.

Nuwara Eliya
This morning includes a tour of Nuwara Eliya, starting with the Hakgala Botanical Gardens where you can see roses, tree ferns, and local wildlife. Next stop is the colorful Seetha Amman Temple, a Hindu shrine with religious figures. You'll also visit Galway's Land National Park to spot endemic birds. Afternoon is free back at your hotel.

Nuwara Eliya to Ella
After breakfast, head to Nanu Oya train station and board a scenic mountain train ride to Ella. Once there, check into your hotel and rest for a bit. Later in the afternoon, take a walking tour of Ella itself to see the charming streets and local spots of this hill town.

Landmarks Ella - Day 7
Ella to Yala
Starting after breakfast, travel toward Yala with stops along the way. First up is the Nine Arch Bridge, a striking 1921 stone structure built without reinforcing iron or concrete that spans a curved mountain path. Then you'll see Ravana Falls, an 82-foot waterfall that drops from an oval rock face. Continue to Thissamaharama and check in to your Yala hotel.

Yala
After breakfast, start your safari through Yala National Park, which has forest, grassland, and lagoons along the southeastern coast. You're looking for leopards, elephants, crocodiles, and numerous bird species. The safari also takes in Sithulpawwa, an ancient Buddhist monastery with centuries-old rock paintings, and the ruins of Magul Maha Viharaya. Return to your hotel in the afternoon.

Yala to Galle
Drive to Galle and spend time at the Galle Fort, the largest occupied fort in Asia. Walk through its narrow, cobbled streets to see the history and architecture, plus you get coastal views and access to golden beaches. Check into your hotel in nearby Unawatuna and enjoy some leisure time at the beach.

Landmarks Galle Fort - Days 10 - 13
Galle - Bentota - Mirissa
You have four relaxing days in the Galle area. On Day 11, travel to Bentota for a turtle farm visit, water sports options, and a boat safari on the Madu River. Days 12 and 13 are completely free, so you can hang out at the beach or at your accommodation. Breakfast comes with your room each morning; you'll arrange your own meals for lunch and dinner.

Bentota to Colombo Airport
After breakfast, check out of your hotel and get ready to leave. Your pickup happens at the scheduled time for the transfer to Bandaranaike International Airport. Plan to arrive at the airport at least 3 hours before your flight departs. If preferred, we can drop you at a hotel in Colombo or Negombo instead.
