Take a guided sightseeing tour through Vancouver, walking through the Waterfront area and historic Gastown to get a feel for the city. Vancouver to Kamloops
Board the Rocky Mountaineer train and settle into your seat with large panoramic windows. Watch the landscape shift as you pass through Fraser Valley, the Coast Mountains, and Fraser Canyon. You'll arrive in Kamloops by evening for your overnight stay.

Kamloops to Banff

Banff
Travel to Moraine Lake and see the turquoise water that comes from glacier melt, then head into Banff for a guided tour of the town. In the evening, you'll have a true western experience with a wagon ride along the Bow River, try your hand at lassoing and horseshoes, and finish with a steak-fry BBQ.

Banff to Jasper
Drive along the Icefield Parkway, one of the world's most scenic highways. Stop at the Columbia Icefield where you'll board an Ice Explorer for a ride onto the Athabasca Glacier. From there, head to Jasper for the night.

Jasper to Sun Peaks
Start your morning walking through Jasper and checking out the town before heading toward Sun Peaks. You'll drive past Mount Robson on the way, which you definitely want to stop and look at. Around lunchtime, pull into Blue River where you can grab food and then get on a river safari heading to Grizzly Bear Valley. During the safari, keep your eyes open for bears and other wildlife along the riverbanks. The boat takes you through glacier-fed rivers and lakes, so you'll see lots of forest and waterfalls as you go. This whole section takes several hours, so plan accordingly and bring a camera for the wildlife.

Sun Peaks to Whistler
Leave after breakfast and drive to Whistler through the historic Cariboo Chilcotin Coast region, where gold was found in the 1860s. The scenery is beautiful throughout the drive. Once you arrive at the alpine resort town of Whistler, you'll have time to walk around and get your bearings.

Whistler to Victoria
Travel along the Sea to Sky Highway with views of the Coast Mountains, then head to Horseshoe Bay to board a ferry across the Georgia Strait to Vancouver Island. You'll arrive in Nanaimo and continue by coach through the charming town of Chemainus before reaching Victoria.
