Itinerary
- Day 1
Iquitos to Nauta Lodge
You'll get picked up from Iquitos airport and head to Nauta port, where you'll board a boat that takes you into the jungle and deposits you at the lodge. After you arrive and get settled, there's lunch followed by some orientation about the Amazon from your guides. That evening, you'll walk around the lodge grounds looking for spiders, frogs, and insects, which are active once the sun starts going down.

Restinga Forest and Pacaya Samiria National Reserve
Breakfast comes first, and then you're off to check out the Restinga forest right near the lodge. Next you'll take a boat through Pacaya Samiria National Reserve with lunch packed along, where you might see pink dolphins, sloths, birds, and the various plants that make up the jungle. There's also time set aside for piranha fishing if that interests you. By evening you'll head back to the lodge to watch the sunset and have dinner.

- Day 3
Community Visit and Renacal Camping
Following breakfast, you'll visit Community January 20 inside Pacaya Samiria National Reserve to see how local people live and how they fish traditionally. From there you'll move to the Renacal area where you'll set up a camp for the night. Lunch happens in the boat or when you arrive at the campsite, and then you can walk around the immediate area. After dark, there's a night excursion to search for alligators before you settle in at the camp.

- Day 4
Return to Lodge
Start the day with breakfast and spend time looking for more wildlife in the area, or if you'd rather cool off, there's a chance to swim in the Yanayacu river. After that you'll break down the camp and head back to the lodge, eating lunch either in the boat or when you arrive. On the journey back you'll see more of the jungle, and if the timing works out, you'll catch a colorful sunset. Dinner happens at the lodge that evening.

Cocha Shiriyacu and Return to Iquitos
Wake up early when the jungle animals are calling, then grab breakfast. You'll take a boat to Cocha Shiriyacu for piranha fishing, followed by a visit to San Jorge and the Center of Artisan Women where you can learn about their traditions and customs. After returning to the lodge, you'll have some free time to do what you want before heading back by boat to Nauta and then by road to Iquitos.
