Itinerary
- Day 1
Frankfurt to Mainz
You'll get picked up at Frankfurt Airport and transferred to your Emerald Cruises Star-Ship docked in Mainz. Once you board, the captain and crew will welcome you on board, so you'll have time to get settled into your cabin and meet other passengers before dinner.
- Day 2
Rüdesheim
Start the day with an active hike through the vineyards to reach the Niederwalddenkmal monument, which gives you great views over the Rhine Valley. In the afternoon, head to Schloss Johannisberg Winery where you can learn about their Riesling production and walk through the vineyard grounds.

Bernkastel

Trier
Join a guided tour of Trier, often called the 'Rome of the North' because of its ancient Roman history. You'll see the ruins of Roman city baths and the Porta Nigra, which is the best-preserved Roman city gate found anywhere north of the Alps.

Cochem
Head to Cochem on a guided tour to see the historic town wall with its fortifications and town hall building. You can pick between a walking tour or a guided bike tour through scenic vineyards and paths along the river. Then by evening, visit the Imperial Castle that sits high above the Moselle River valley with great views of the town below.

Mainz
Get a guided tour of Mainz and stop by the impressive sandstone cathedral in the Old Town, surrounded by medieval market squares and half-timbered houses. You'll learn about Johannes Gutenberg, who invented the printing press here back in the 15th century. There's an optional visit to the Gutenberg Museum if you want to go deeper into that history.

Mainz to Nuremberg
After breakfast, you'll leave the river cruise ship and get transferred to Nuremberg in Bavaria, a region known for its medieval character and historical significance in Germany.

Nuremberg to Munich
Walk through Nuremberg with your Tour Director and stop at Nuremberg Castle, a medieval landmark with exhibits and interesting architecture to see. Later in the day, you'll be transferred to Munich, which is the capital of Bavaria and has its own set of attractions worth exploring.

Munich - Neuschwanstein
Take a day trip to Neuschwanstein Castle, the famous 19th century castle that looks like something from a fairytale. You'll explore the elegant halls inside and see the surrounding landscape, which sits on a hill in the Bavarian Alps foothills with nice views all around.
