Itinerary
- Day 1
Tirana to Theth
Hotel pickup in Tirana happens at 6:00 am, then you'll drive north through Albanian mountain terrain toward the Alps. The route takes you past Shkodra Lake and rough, dramatic landscapes before switching to local transport around 7:30 am for the journey to Theth. As the road winds up to 1700 meters at Qafa e Thores, you might catch lavender fields if you're traveling between May and June. Once you reach Theth, check out the Old Church and the Lock-in Tower, which is pretty iconic in the area. After that, there's a 3-hour hike to Blue Eye spring, a natural pool fed by melting snow with striking blue and green coloring. If you've still got energy, Grunas Waterfall sits along the way back down. From there, you'll head back to either Shkoder or Tirana by evening.
