Harstad
You'll land at Harstad/Narvik airport and pick up your rental car for the drive to Harstad, which sits on Norway's largest island and serves as your gateway to the Lofoten Islands. Once you arrive, check into your hotel and get settled for the week ahead.

Harstad to Andenes
After breakfast at the hotel, you'll drive north toward the Vesterålen Islands, an archipelago that stretches just above the Lofoten Islands and crosses into the Arctic Circle. Your destination is Andenes on the northern tip of Andøya Island, where you'll spend the night.

Landmarks Vesterålen Islands - Day 3
Whale Safari
Following breakfast, head to the Whale Watching Centre at Andenes harbour in the early afternoon. You'll tour the museum to learn about marine life in the region, then board a guided whale safari that lasts between 2 to 4 hours. Depending on the season, you might spot sperm whales, orcas, or humpback whales during your time on the water.

Landmarks Whale Watching Centre - Day 4
Andøya Island Scenic Route
You have the full day to drive the Norwegian Scenic Route between Bjørnskinn and Andenes, a 58-kilometer route that winds through Andøya Island. Along the way, you'll come across sandy beaches, and if you're lucky, spot seals, whales, or eagles. The fishing village of Bleik and the natural rock formation Bukkekjerka are highlights worth stopping for.

Vesterålen to Lofoten Islands
After breakfast, you'll leave the Vesterålen archipelago behind and head toward the Lofoten Islands. The ferry crossing from Melbu to Fiskebøl gets you to Leknes, where you'll check into a traditional fisherman's rorbu, those iconic red wooden houses built on stilts over the water.

- Day 6
Lofoten Islands Exploration
This day focuses on exploring the Lofoten Islands themselves. You'll drive through the region to visit the villages of Reine, Hennigsvær, and Å, each with their own character and charm. The Stockfish Museum in Å gives you insight into the area's fishing heritage, and the landscape with jagged mountains dropping straight into the sea provides constant scenery throughout your drive.

Svolvær and Kabelvåg
You'll head in the opposite direction today to reach Svolvær, an important fishing port and trading center for the archipelago. Svolvær
This day is yours to spend as you like around the surrounding area. Svolvær to Harstad
Start with breakfast at the hotel, and if you have time before departing, check out either the Lofoten War Museum with its collection of military artifacts including items from the battleship Tirpitz, or the North Norwegian Art Centre if you prefer contemporary visual art. In the afternoon, you'll head back toward Harstad for your departure.
