This was an excellent tour. It was really well organised and Frey the guide was extremely well organised and knowledgeable. The pace was just right and we saw as much as was possible in the 10 days with enough free time as well. The hotels were all of a very good standard and a couple were quite stunning. Highly recommended.
Legendary Fjords End CopenhagenWe extended our stay in Stockholm for an extra five days due to a conference, and as soon as it wrapped up, we jumped straight into a land tour that turned out to be nothing short of unforgettable. Starting in Stockholm and winding through Mora, Trondheim, the Atlantic Road, Leon, Bergen, Oslo, and finally back to Stockholm, the journey felt like a perfectly curated blend of culture, scenery, and camaraderie. June was a spectacular time to travel — long golden days, crisp air, and clear skies that made every fjord shimmer. Norway’s national parks were breathtaking, with dramatic cliffs, glassy waters, and trails that felt almost otherworldly. The fjords themselves were the highlight: serene, majestic, and humbling in their scale. One of the unexpected joys of the tour was the group itself. It was a truly international mix — Japanese, Chinese, Australian, and European travelers — and everyone was kind, curious, and welcoming. Conversations flowed easily, and it added a wonderful social dimension to the adventure. The breakfast buffets were consistently excellent, offering generous spreads that made mornings feel indulgent. If I had one wish, it would be for more scheduled bathroom breaks during the bus segments; after hearty breakfasts, quite a few folks were eager for a stop sooner than planned. Aside from that small detail, the tour was exceptionally well organized. Overall, this was a phenomenal experience — a seamless blend of nature, culture, and connection. I loved every moment of it and would happily recommend this journey to anyone dreaming of Scandinavia’s legendary landscapes.
Legendary Fjords End StockholmI recently had the pleasure of experiencing Contiki's Northern Lights and Fjords trip. From start to finish, Rianna demonstrated exceptional leadership, passion, and a deep knowledge of the region we explored. Rianna’s ability to create a welcoming atmosphere was remarkable. She effortlessly connected with each member of our group, ensuring that everyone felt included and engaged. Her enthusiasm for the Northern Lights and the stunning fjords was infectious, and it truly enhanced our experience. The itinerary was perfectly balanced, offering ample opportunities for both adventure and relaxation. Rianna was incredibly organized, managing logistics with ease while providing insightful commentary that enriched our understanding of the culture and history of the areas we visited. One of the standout moments was when we witnessed the Northern Lights. Rianna went above and beyond, staying up late to ensure we had the best viewing experience. Her tips on photography and storytelling about the mythology surrounding the lights made the experience even more magical. Rianna exemplifies what it means to be a great tour manager—knowledgeable, approachable, and genuinely invested in the well-being everyone on trip. Rianna made this trip unforgettable and left a lasting impression on all of us.

Best time to visit Norwegian Fjords
- Summer 2026
Summer brings those long Nordic days and opens up every corner of the fjords. The Oslo to Bergen routes are really popular, taking you past Geirangerfjord's Seven Sisters falls and along the island-connected Atlantic Road. You can mix glacier hikes at Briksdal with boat trips through the UNESCO fjords. Our customers keep telling us how much they love those endless summer evenings - you can still take great photos at Eagle's Road viewpoint well after dinner. The Flåm Railway shows off its best side in summer too, with clear skies highlighting every valley and peak along the way.

- Fall / Autumn 2026
Autumn gives you a more intimate look at the fjords, with fewer crowds and mountains draped in gold and red. Those Bergen-Oslo routes take on a different character now - our travelers particularly like how the low autumn sun lights up the fjord walls during morning cruises. You'll find several good options that connect Copenhagen or Stockholm city visits with fjord exploration. The timing works well for walking through historic districts before heading into the mountains. If you're taking the Atlantic Road, autumn actually adds something extra with dramatic waves crashing against those island-connecting bridges.

- Winter 2026 / 2027
Winter really showcases what makes Norway's fjords special, and it all starts with those northern lights tours from Tromsø. You'll head above the Arctic Circle where husky sledding pairs perfectly with evening aurora watching. Our travelers love how these tours mix things up - one day you're learning about Sami culture at a reindeer farm, the next you're sleeping under glass ceilings waiting for the lights to appear. The polar park visits let you get close to wolves, lynx and other Arctic animals in their winter element. If you take the coastal routes through Narvik and the Lofoten Islands, you'll find yourself spotting whales while surrounded by snow-covered peaks. These winter routes work because they blend natural wonders with hands-on experiences and real local connections.

- Spring 2027
Spring opens up some interesting combinations in fjord country, where you can actually ski and kayak in the same trip. Our routes around Granvin Fjord let you hit the slopes in the morning and paddle the warming waters by afternoon. The Flåm Railway rides are particularly good this time of year - you'll see dozens of waterfalls powered by the spring melt. Many of our travelers time their visits to catch Kjosfossen waterfall at its strongest, when all that winter snow starts flowing down the mountains. The e-bike routes to the falls open up again, giving you a whole new way to explore.
