Sydney
You'll arrive at your Sydney hotel with room access from 3 pm onward. In the evening at 6 pm, meet up with the group for a welcome drink to get acquainted before the tour officially kicks off.

Sydney
Start at Mrs Macquarie's Chair in the Botanical Gardens to take in the views of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge. From there, head to Bondi Beach to watch the surfers and soak in the coastal atmosphere. You'll be on a harbor tour that includes lunch, so you'll get time on the water and a meal sorted. After that, the afternoon is yours to walk around the city at your own pace and find whatever catches your interest.

Sydney to Hobart
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Tasmania. Once you land in Hobart, a guided tour shows you Salamanca Square and the Battery Point district. If weather cooperates, you'll catch views of the capital from Mount Wellington before checking into your hotel for a 2-night stay.

Hobart to Port Arthur - Hobart
You're heading out on a 220 km round trip to Port Arthur, a UNESCO World Heritage Site on the Tasman Peninsula. A guide will take you through more than 30 historic buildings to learn about Australia's colonial past. There's also a harbor cruise included. Before heading back to Hobart, you'll stop at a lavender farm that has a nice location for lunch. The whole excursion gives you a real sense of the area's history.

Hobart to Cradle Mountain
Travel from Hobart through Tasmania's interior heading northwest, covering about 340 km. First, you'll visit Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary in Brighton where you can see exotic animals and Tasmanian devils, which are only found on this island. The landscape changes noticeably as you continue on toward Cradle Mountain-Lake St. Clair National Park in the central highlands. You'll spend the night at Cradle Mountain Hotel.

Cradle Mountain to Launceston

After passing through some small charming towns and Port Fairy, a fishing village, you'll arrive in Mount Gambier for the night at Southgate Motel.

Adelaide to Kings Canyon
Drive through the Red Center's vast and mostly empty wilderness, covering about 475 km. You'll arrive at Watarrka National Park and see Kings Canyon with its 100 meter high red cliffs that glow as evening approaches. Surprisingly, there's lush vegetation where water reaches the ground. You can do a short 45 minute hike along the canyon floor to see if you're up for a longer circular hike the next day. You'll stay at Discovery Kings Canyon Resort.

Kings Canyon to Uluru
Start early for a challenging hike up to the rock plateau above Kings Canyon, which takes about 3 hours and needs some sure-footedness.
