    Islamabad

You'll arrive in Islamabad and meet your CEO and fellow travelers at a welcome gathering this afternoon. After that, you're heading to Shah Faisal Mosque to catch the sunset and listen to the maghrib prayer. The mosque itself is quite striking architecturally, and the timing with the evening prayer makes it a meaningful way to start your Pakistan journey.

    Islamabad to Khaplu

An early flight takes you north from Islamabad to Skardu, then you'll drive toward Khaplu. Along the way, the route includes stops in small Baltistan villages and a walk across the Keris Suspension Bridge. You'll spend time exploring local communities, then stop at Thoqsi Khar Fort, a nearly 700-year-old mosque sitting high on a mountain. By evening, your CEO will walk you through what's coming next: a five-day trek including route details, what to expect physically, and how to handle the high altitude.

In the afternoon, you drive to where the trek begins. Your first day on the trail is short, about an hour, taking you to camp at 3,530 meters. You'll warm up with hot drinks and settle in for dinner featuring local Pakistani dishes and some continental options in the mess tent.

The walk takes you through green meadows, alpine flowers, and along small streams from Dunsa to May Sikhpa. The landscape keeps changing as you walk. After you reach camp and set up, you'll have some downtime. Boiled water is on hand throughout the day if you need to refill your bottles.

Local shepherds might be moving yaks or goats through their summer grazing areas, and you can stop to chat with them. After you arrive in the afternoon and camp is set up, you've got free time. Some people learn cricket from locals, others talk with the porters or just rest.

It's the kind of physical push that feels rewarding, especially doing it with other trekkers. The views from the top are expansive and rare for most tourists. After celebrating, taking photos, and catching your breath, you descend to Bukhma Campsite for your final night under stars. Dinner is hearty and celebratory with local Pakistani dishes.

Your first night in a bed comes at a hotel in Shigar, and you'll have a warm group dinner with everyone.
