Itinerary
- Day 1
Delhi
You'll land in Delhi and meet up with your trip leader and group at a 6 pm welcome meeting. If your flight gets in earlier, there's time to walk around the city streets, grab some chai from a local vendor, and try your luck haggling in the markets. Your leader can point you toward good places for a drink or evening activity with the group.

- Day 2
Delhi to Leh
This morning you fly to Leh, Ladakh's joint capital high in the Himalayas. After the airport transfer to your hotel, the plan is to take things slow as your body adjusts to the altitude (3,500 m/11,500 ft). Later in the afternoon, you'll head out for a light walk around the city and its bazaars to get oriented.

Leh
After breakfast, you'll explore Leh's main sites with your leader. The route includes Shey Monastery and Palace, which has a three-storey Buddha Shakyamuni statue, then moves on to Thiksey Monastery overlooking the Indus Valley and Stok Range. You'll also visit Matho Monastery across the valley in its deep gorge. The afternoon opens up so you can wander on your own or rest back at the hotel.

- Day 4
Leh
You'll spend this day hiking around Leh Valley to keep adjusting to the altitude. Starting after breakfast with your leader, you'll check out the Ruins of Royal Palace from 1645-1695, then head to Tsemo Monastery for views over Leh and the villages around it. The walk continues through Sankar to Shanti Stupa. If the timing works out, you might catch the sunset from the stupa looking out over Leh and the Stok Range.

- Day 5
Leh to Zingchen - Rumbak
After breakfast you drive to Zingchen village where the trek officially starts. You'll meet your trekking crew and begin a gradual climb toward Rumbak through mountain scenery that's either snow-covered in winter or green in summer. Along the way you'll pass through Rumbak village and meet locals there. As evening comes, you'll help prepare dinner at camp.

Rumbak to Yurutse
From camp this morning, you'll trek the short distance to Yurutse, a remote village in the Rumbak Valley with just one main house and very welcoming local hosts. You'll have time to soak in the natural landscape and later watch the stars without light pollution interfering.

Yurutse to Skiu
This is one of the longer hiking days on the trek. After breakfast you climb to Ganda La pass at 4,900 m/16,070 ft, passing through base camp and taking in the views and fresh air. From there you descend through Shingo village into a narrow gorge and continue to Skiu in the Markha Valley, home to a small monastery with sections over 1,000 years old.

Skiu to Markha Village
Another long trekking day, though the trails are mostly flat. You'll walk through the scenic Markha Valley in Hemis National Park and check out old ruins on hilltops that show how important this ancient trade route once was. Keep an eye out for wild blue sheep on the slopes or eagles flying overhead. Before reaching Markha village and tonight's camp, you'll cross a stream.

Markha Village to Hankar
The trek continues upward through the valley this morning. After a few hours taking in the wild landscape, you'll arrive at Hankar, the last village in the Markha Valley. If you have the energy, there's a short but steep hike up to a small monastery in Tetsa for views that make the effort worthwhile.

Hankar to Nimaling
This morning you trek to the high plateau of Nimaling. The flat, green plains are surrounded by white-capped mountains, and Nimaling is considered one of Ladakh's most beautiful high valleys with views of Kangyatze at 6,400 m/20,997 ft. As evening arrives, watch local villagers bring their sheep, goats, and yaks to graze while the sun goes down. Your crew will celebrate this final night together.

Landmarks Nimaling Kangyatze - Day 11
Nimaling to Leh
You'll cross Kongmaru La pass this morning, the trek's second pass. From the top, Kangyatze appears one last time before you descend into a long, narrow gorge with spectacular natural scenery. After reaching Chokdo, you'll drive back to Leh through green, fertile lands. Tonight you'll stay in the city and celebrate the long trekking adventure.

- Day 12
Leh
After a relaxed breakfast, you have the day free in Leh. This is your chance to do some last-minute shopping in the bazaar for souvenirs or gifts. In the evening, you'll grab dinner with your fellow travelers and share stories from the trek.

- Day 13
Leh to Delhi
You'll take a morning flight to Delhi. Once there, settle in and relax for a bit. This afternoon, there's an option to join an Urban Adventures sightseeing tour of Old Delhi. You can walk around the chaotic sights and sounds, then head out with the group for a final dinner together featuring local cuisine.

Delhi
