- Day 1
Arrival in Luang Prabang
You'll arrive at the airport where your guide meets you for the transfer to your hotel. Check-in starts at 2 pm, so you have time to settle in. Once you're ready, spend the afternoon walking around Luang Prabang to get a feel for the place. This UNESCO World Heritage Site sits between two rivers and has a really peaceful vibe with its temples and Buddhist culture throughout the city.

Luang Prabang
The day starts at the Living Land Organic Farm where you'll get hands-on with rice farming and water buffalo work, and your money supports local projects. Later, head to Kuangsi Waterfall for a short walk through rainforest and a swim in the limestone pools. After that, you'll stop in Ban Ou village before climbing the 300 steps up Phousi Hill for views of the whole city. By evening, check out the night market for street food and local goods.

- Day 3
Luang Prabang
Get up around 6 am to watch the monks' alms round ritual, then grab fruit at the local market before breakfast. From there, take a boat up the Mekong to the limestone cliffs and then into the Nam Ou River heading to Pak Ou Caves, which are filled with Buddha statues. Stop in Ban Xang Hai to learn how they make Lao-Lao rice liquor. The afternoon has you checking out the National Museum (the old Royal Palace), Hor Prabang Castle, and the weaving village at Ock Pop Tok.

- Day 4
Luang Prabang to Vang Vieng
You'll visit three important temples starting with Wat Visoun, the oldest one still in use dating back to 1513 and full of wooden Buddhas. Then stop at nearby Wat Aham before heading to Wat Xieng Thong, which is really the standout with its incredible mosaics and gilded murals. After that, transfer to the train station and take a modern express train to Vang Vieng, about an hour away. Check into your hotel and have a relaxed afternoon to rest.

- Day 5
Vang Vieng to Vientiane
Start with an easy hike to Pha Hor Kham viewpoint where you'll see beautiful mountain views across the limestone landscape. Then go through Tham Chang Cave, which was used as shelter during the Indochina War, and Tham Nang Fa (Angel Cave) to see the limestone formations inside. You'll take a longtail boat on the Nam Song River back to town, and then drive by highway to Vientiane in the early evening, arriving after several hours on the road.

Vientiane
Explore Vientiane's spiritual side by visiting Wat Sisaket, the city's most important temple from 1820 that somehow survived the 1827 Siamese attack. Walk across the street to Ho Phra Keo, a temple-turned-museum that once held the Emerald Buddha. Then see Patuxai, the big triumphal arch that looks like it was inspired by the Arc de Triomphe in Paris. Visit That Luang, Laos's most revered shrine with its golden stupa standing out. In the afternoon, head about 25 km south to Wat Xieng Khuan, called Buddha Park, which has a huge garden full of Buddha figures and Hindu sculptures.

Vientiane to Phnom Penh
Have breakfast at the hotel, then transfer to Vientiane airport in the morning for your flight to Phnom Penh. You'll arrive in the afternoon and start exploring Cambodia's capital right away. Visit the National Museum to see Khmer art and learn the country's history. Check out Tuol Sleng Museum to understand Cambodia's difficult wartime past. Stop at Wat Phnom, where the city actually began, and then head to your hotel to check in.

Phnom Penh to Siem Reap
Continue exploring Phnom Penh on a city tour that includes the Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda, where the floor has over 5,000 silver plates covering it. Browse the Central Market and the Russian Market for local crafts and goods you might want to bring home. Around midday, travel overland to Siem Reap, which is about 320 km away and takes several hours by car.

Angkor Temples
You'll visit Angkor Tom, an 11th century fortified royal city full of temples. The main attraction here is Bayon with its more than 200 towers featuring carved smiling faces that are pretty striking. See the Terrace of the Leper King and Ta Prohm, the jungle temple that's become one of the most visited sites because of how the forest has taken it over. Also explore Preah Khan, another jungle temple in the complex. Finish the day by watching the sunset from one of the temple viewpoints.

Angkor Wat
Start at Angkor Wat, the main temple complex and UNESCO World Heritage Site from 1972. Spend time exploring this massive structure that took 30 years to build, and it has the longest continuous bas-relief in the world carved into its walls. Then visit Banteay Srei, a smaller pink sandstone temple known as the jewel of Angkor with intricate figures and Hindu-inspired carvings that are really detailed. In the evening, catch a show at Siem Reap Circus where the Phare Ponleu Selpak artists perform music, dance, acrobatics, and juggling.

Tonle Sap Floating Village
After breakfast and checkout, drive about an hour outside Siem Reap to visit a fishing village built on stilts in the Tonle Sap. During rainy season, the water rises up to 10 meters high, and boats become the main way to get around the village streets. You'll get a real sense of how simple life is out here and learn about the daily routines of the fishermen who live this way. Spend the rest of the day being driven to Siem Reap airport for your departure.
