Itinerary
- Day 1
Bangkok to Ayutthaya to Phitsanulok
Your hotel pickup happens early morning, then you'll travel by bus to Ayutthaya to see the bronze statue at Mongkol Borpith temple and the three historic pagodas at Wat Srisanpetch. After that, you're heading to Phitsanulok where you'll check out Wat Mahathat temple and its Golden Buddha image. Lunch is included at a local restaurant along the route. You'll stay overnight in Phitsanulok.

Phitsanulok to Sukhothai
The morning drive takes you toward Sukhothai through rice fields, with a stop for a picnic in an orchard. You'll visit local craft workshops to see how wooden furniture and woven textiles are made. Once in Sukhothai, you walk through the historical park looking at temples and sculptures. Wat Sri Chum is particularly worth seeing for its 11-meter-high seated Buddha statue. Your overnight is in Sukhothai.

- Day 3
Sukhothai to Chiang Rai
Before breakfast, you can watch the morning almsgiving ceremony, a centuries-old Thai Buddhist tradition, then head back for breakfast at your hotel. From there, you travel north toward Chiang Rai, stopping at the traditional village of Morhom where they hand-dye fabrics with indigo. Wat Rong Khun, the white temple symbolizing enlightenment, is next on your route. You'll reach Chiang Rai for the overnight stay.

- Day 4
Chiang Rai to Chiang Mai
You'll travel to the Golden Triangle where Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar meet at the Mekong River. A visit to a traditional Lahu hill tribe village lets you see local culture firsthand. An optional boat trip on the Mekong is available if you want to add that. Later you continue to Chiang Mai for two nights. If it's Sunday, you can explore the Chiang Mai Walking Street weekend market.

- Day 5
Chiang Mai
Start your morning at Mae Sa elephant camp where mahouts teach you about caring for these animals. In the afternoon, you'll walk through an orchid and butterfly farm, then head up to Doi Suthep temple on the mountain for views of the city on clear days. You'll also visit Wat Suan Dok temple. By evening, there's a farewell dinner at The Riverside Chiang Mai Bar & Restaurant with hotel transfer by 10 pm.
