Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrival in Luang Prabang
You'll arrive at the airport and meet your tour guide for the drive to your hotel. Check-in starts at 2 pm, so you'll have time to settle in and get your bearings in Luang Prabang. This UNESCO World Heritage Site sits in a beautiful mountain setting and you'll find temples throughout the city.

- Day 2
Luang Prabang
Head out at 8:30 am to the Living Land Organic Farm where you'll learn how rice gets cultivated and help with planting. From there, drive to Kuangsi waterfall and swim in the limestone pools to cool off. Later you'll stop by Ban Ou village, then climb the 300 steps up Phousi Hill for views of the city. By evening, you can wander through the night market looking for food and souvenirs.

- Day 3
Luang Prabang
Wake around 6 am to watch the monks' morning alms ritual (tak bat), then head to the local market and pick up some fruit. A boat takes you up the Mekong to Pak Ou Caves, which has numerous Buddha statues inside, and you'll stop at Ban Xang Hai village to see how rice liquor gets made. In the afternoon, explore the National Museum in the Royal Palace, check out Hor Prabang Castle, and visit the weaving village of Ock Pop Tok.

- Day 4
Luang Prabang to Vang Vieng
Start by visiting Wat Visoun, the oldest inhabited temple in Luang Prabang dating back to 1513, and see its wooden Buddha collection. Continue on to Wat Aham and then Wat Xieng Thong, where you'll see artistic buildings with detailed mosaics and gilded murals. After that, you'll head to the train station and take a modern express train to Vang Vieng, which takes about an hour. Your afternoon is free once you arrive.

- Day 5
Vang Vieng to Vientiane
Spend the day exploring the limestone landscape around Vang Vieng. Start with an easy hike to Pha Hor Kham viewpoint for panoramic views of the mountains. Then visit Tham Chang Cave, which served as a refuge during the Indochina War, and explore Tham Nang Fa Cave (Angel Cave) to see the limestone formations. You'll ride a longtail boat on the Nam Song River back to town, and later transfer by highway to Vientiane in the early evening.

- Day 6
Vientiane
Explore Vientiane's temples and landmarks starting with Wat Sisaket, the city's most sacred temple from 1820 and one of the few that survived the 1827 Siamese sacking. Cross the street to Ho Phra Keo, a revered temple now functioning as a museum that once housed the Emerald Buddha. Visit Patuxai, the impressive triumphal arch, and That Luang, the most revered shrine with its distinctive golden stupa. In the afternoon, travel about 25 km south to Wat Xieng Khuan (Buddha Park) to see the garden filled with Buddha figures and Hindu stone sculptures.

Vientiane to Phnom Penh
After breakfast at your hotel, transfer to Vientiane airport for your flight to Phnom Penh, arriving in the afternoon. Cambodia's capital sits where three rivers meet and holds some of the finest French colonial architecture in Indochina. Spend the afternoon checking out the National Museum for Khmer art, the Tuol Sleng Museum to learn about Cambodia's wartime history, and Wat Phnom, where the city began. Then check into your hotel.

Phnom Penh to Siem Reap
Take a city tour to see more of Phnom Penh's key sites. Visit the Royal Palace and the Silver Pagoda, which has more than 5,000 silver plates covering its floor. Explore the Central Market and Russian Market for local goods and atmosphere. Around midday, you'll travel overland to Siem Reap, which takes approximately 320 km.

Siem Reap
Head to Angkor Thom, a fortified royal city built in the 11th century. Explore Bayon, the temple mountain featuring over 200 smiling faces carved into its towers. Visit the Terrace of the Leper King and Ta Prohm, where jungle has grown over the temple structures. Continue on to the Preah Khan jungle temple and find a spot to watch the sunset from one of the many temples in the area.

Siem Reap
Visit Angkor Wat, the significant temple complex that received UNESCO World Heritage status in 1972. This monumental structure took over 30 years to build and holds the longest continuous bas-relief in the world. After that, head to Banteay Srei temple, considered the jewel of all Angkor temples. This small structure features pink sandstone with countless small figures and walls depicting Hindu stories. In the evening, catch a performance by the artist group Phare Ponleu Selpak at Siem Reap Circus with music, dance, acrobatics and juggling.

Siem Reap Departure
Have breakfast at your hotel and check out. About an hour outside Siem Reap, visit a fishing village on the Tonle Sap built on stilts. You'll learn about daily life on the river and watch fishermen at work. During rainy season, village streets flood and houses are reached by boat. Spend the rest of the day transferring to Siem Reap airport for your departure.
