  We are family of 4 from Auckland New Zealand. 3 Adults and 1 child 12 years old. We are interested in a 15-day nature and city tour in China in January 2027. Is the tour available at this time?

    China: Natural Sites & City Lights (ACBZ) is specifically designed for travellers aged 18–39, so unfortunately it would not be suitable for a family travelling with a 12-year-old. However, we do have other China tours available that welcome travellers aged 12+, including options such as: Highlights of China – 15 days, Beijing to Shanghai, Ancient China – 7 days, Journeys: Wonders of China – 8 days, China & Vietnam: Chengdu to Hanoi – 13 days, National Geographic Signature: China's Great Wall, Xi'an & the Gobi Desert – 10 days. These may provide more suitable options for a family travelling with a child aged 12 or older.

    This tour is a part of our 18-30somethings travel style, which is only available for travellers between the ages of 18 - 39 to book onto. Our other travel styles, such as Classic, Active, National Geographic Journeys, etc., do not have any age restrictions.

    While gluten-free options may be more limited in some areas, there are food options available throughout the trip, and your CEO will be able to assist in communicating your dietary requirements when ordering meals.

  What time does the tour start? The itinerary description talks about arriving in Beijing whenever and meeting up at night, but could "at night" be a bit more specific? I am planning on arriving in China for this tour so I need to plan my flight correctly.

    For day 1 you can arrive at anytime, there is a welcome meeting that evening between 5-7pm the accurate time is normally advise once on tour, we do recommend arriving before this time however if not that is fine as the CEO will leave instruction on where to meet the next day at reception.
    
    However there is a time restriction for the last day of the tour. Your flight must depart no earlier than: 20:00 on Day 15

    Please note that we offer set itineraries in each country. This means that our tours follow a fixed route and schedule, and unfortunately we're not able to customise or amend them. The one important point to highlight is that our tours have a minimum age requirement of 12 years old.

  Can you confirm whether or not someone can pay for their own room on this trip? Another representative said that because this trip is 18-39 you cannot have your own room. But it gives me the option to pay for my own room?? I want to know if I can have my own private room! I understand the train part cannot be private, but if there is the option to add on my own room for $759 CAD, why was I told that I cannot??? Please confirm.

    Typically, with the 18 to 30something tours, accommodation on these tours is majorly multi-share accommodations such as Hostels and we generally do not have My Own Room options on them, which is why they could have advised this. I can confirm that there is a My Own Room option available for this tour to add to the booking for $759 CAD. This tour's accommodation is Hotels for 13 nights and 1 night in the overnight train. My Own Room is not for the night of the train.

    If I book the single supplement room, and my sister decides she wants to come on this tour, am I able to have her as my roommate and get refunded the amount for the single supplement?

    You can cancel the My Own Room option up to 30 days from departure without any fees. So yes as long as you make this change before 30 days + there is room on the tour for your sister we can arrange this

    This is an 18-39 tour so it is a mix of hotels and hostels. On hotel night you will it will be 2 per room, hostel nights are 4-6 per room sharing with other travelers of the same sex. A single supplement is not available for this tour.

    Unfortunately, that tour is sold out so we cannot add any more travellers to it. We do still have 5 spots on the April 11-25 departure if they wanted to rebook to that date.

  I was wondering whether it might be possible for me to conclude the tour in Yangshuo instead, and then continue my journey independently from there to Shanghai, either by flight or by train.

    That is no problem at all if you would like to leave the tour in Yangshuo and continue travelling independently. Please be advised that any costs associated with missed services will be forfeited. You will just have to let the CEO (Chief Experience Officer aka your guide) know at the start of the tour what your plans are.
