Thank you for your kind words! We’re so pleased to hear you loved the 8-day tour and the beauty of Iceland. We appreciate your feedback about the last day at Landmannalaugar — there is normally a grocery store stop on the way, but for some reason it was skipped this time. Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback – we truly appreciate it. We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the overall itinerary and that both of your guides, Sigi and Thor, made a strong impression with their knowledge and commentary. We're also pleased to hear the 6-day tour bus was comfortable and that the main tour met your expectations. That said, we sincerely regret the logistical and comfort issues you encountered, particularly on the first day and during the Landmannalaugar trip. Your comments about hotel check-in challenges, early pick-up without breakfast, bus condition, and the overall pacing are extremely valuable. We understand how these factors can impact the experience, especially during a busy and scenic itinerary. Regarding the structure of the 8-day tour: your suggestion to allow travelers more control over the additional days is well noted and appreciated. We’ll share this with our team as we continue refining our packages to provide a smoother, more personalized experience. Thank you once again for traveling with us and for your constructive input. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back and provide an even better experience next time. Kind regards, BusTravel Iceland

Thank you for your detailed and honest feedback. We’re very sorry to hear about the confusion and discomfort you experienced during the latter part of your tour. We appreciate your compliments about the 6-day portion and your kind words about the scenery, guides, and accommodation. Your points about clearer communication regarding the structure of the 8-day tour, self-check-in details, and luggage arrangements are important, and we will review these aspects carefully to improve the experience for future guests. We sincerely apologize for the awkward situation with the luggage and any frustration caused. Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience—it helps us identify areas for improvement. We hope to have the chance to provide you with a smoother experience in the future. Kind regards, BusTravel Iceland

    Asked on July 17th, 2026

I was wondering how long you stop at the major cites (especially the major waterfalls). For example, at Detifoss, is there enough time to see Selfoss. Is there enough time to climb the stairs at Skógafoss or to see the companion waterfall at Seljalandsfoss. All of these things could be done easily with a stop of an hour or so, but not with a 20 minute photo stop. Also, I read many reviews regarding logistics problems with the hotel stays between the 6 day main trip and the 2 one day tours. Have they been worked out?

Does the tour start and end in Reykjavik and include the following? 1) Reykjavik 2) Golden circle 3) Blue lagoon 4) South coast - Skagafoss waterfall 5) Jokulsarlon Glacier 6) Diamond beach 7) Snaefellsness? No adventure, No hiking.

    • BusTravel IcelandOperatorWritten May 2026

The tour covers everything except Blue Lagoon. As an extra activity, you can actually add another 2 lagoons, one in the east: Vök baths, and one in the north: Forest Lagoon. The tour does include a hiking of about 2 hours at Landmannalaugar, easy hike.

    Asked on March 1st, 2026

Will there be a special viewing for the solar eclipse on August 12 th?

    Tour Details
    • BusTravel IcelandOperatorWritten March 2026

The tour is divided into 3 parts:
      - 6 Day Ring Road
      - Snæfellsnes Peninsula
      - Landmannalaugar Hike

Depending on our operational adjustments, we might follow this exact order, meaning that on the 12th of August we will be in North of Iceland. I am afraid that the total eclipse won't be visible on this side of the island.

This eclipse map of Iceland highlights the best locations for the 2026 total solar eclipse. The dark blue line marks the eastern limit of totality, everything west of it will experience total darkness, while the rest of Iceland will see only a partial eclipse.
The Westfjords, Snæfellsnes, and Reykjanes Peninsula are prime viewing spots, with the central eclipse line just offshore.

    Asked on February 28th, 2026

Looking at the itenerary for the 8 day trip Sept 8-14. It says the pickup is at a bus stop. For the trip I am looking at I would arrive at the airport around 6:00am on the 8th. Is it up to me to find the bus stop or would there be a shuttle from the airport to the meeting point that is handled by you?

    Flights / Transfers
    • BusTravel IcelandOperatorWritten February 2026

We strongly advise you to arrive a day before. This is to avoid any stressful situation such as flight disruptions.

In case you still want to go ahead with the arrival on the same day of your trip, you will need to be ready at 08:00 from BSI Bus Terminal, that would be the best location for you as you would need to get from airport to Reykjav\u00edk either by taxi or shuttle.

The main difference between these tours is exactly the Landmannalaugar tour on the 8-Day Summer Iceland Ring Road & Landmannalaugar Highland Small Group Tour. Activities like Whale Watching are an add-on, such as Vok Baths, and the Ice Cave experience, but we can add these experiences to your booking if you like. These tours are run on a small group tour, with a maximum of 15 - 19 persons per departure, and the accomodation will included breakfast, and you may have to share a room if you don't want to add the single room supplement. On these excursions, we welcome people aged 20 to 63 or older, providing a personalized experience for different age groups.

Can you give me specifics on pick up and drop off locations in Reykjavik so I can coordinate with flights? Is there pick up at the airport?

    • BusTravel IcelandOperatorWritten January 2026

We can only pickup/dropoff in Reykjavik city center. The airport is 45 minutes away from city center, it is not possible to pickup from there. Here's a list of some options for you with pickup directly from the hotel: Hotel Klettur, Hotel Cabin, Reykjavik Lights Hotel, Grand Hotel Reykjavik, Hilton Reykjavik Marina, Hotel Orkin, Eyja Guldsmeden Hotel. They you have hotels with specific Tour Bus Stop nearby: Sorm Hotel - pickup from Tour Bus Stop 12, Fosshotel Reykjavik - pickup from Tour Bus Stop 12, Centerhotel Laugavegur - pickup from Tour Bus Stop 9, Edition Hotel - pickup from Tour Bus Stop 5, Centerhotels Midgardur - pickup from Tour Bus Stop 13.

I'm a single traveler, willing to share a room and not pay a single supplement. I intend to go whale watching and experience the baths at Vik, and I'd like to confirm the price.

    • BusTravel IcelandOperatorWritten January 2026

If you don't wanna pay the single supplement, you will be assigned a room with another passenger of the same gender. The price for the Vök Baths admission is 56$ and for the Whale Watching is 104$. You can add these extras when you are processing the confirmation, but you can also add them later, if you want time to think.

I see that there a number of hostel type accommodations ...Are any that you know of within a 10 minute walking distance from the tour pick up stop? Do I have any options with that?

Is there ever a situation where the 8 day doesn't happen for the particular period? 7/26 - 8/2 will be good to go since I will be booking airfare?

    • BusTravel IcelandOperatorWritten January 2026

If you are looking for a hostel, probably Bus Hostel will be a good option, since this hostel is at the same location as our buses parking lot, so we can pick you up there. If you wanna a better central location, Kex Hostel can be a good alternative, since it is closer to downtown, and restaurants/coffs area.

The tour will be operated, there can be some changes due to weather conditions, for example, or just some small adjustments, but we will keep you updated if anything changes.

How challenging is the volcano hike on day 8 (as this changes the grading of the 7 day trip from easy to medium)? I have good general fitness but not great with steep ascents etc. In your opinion is the volcano hike a must as this is the main difference between 7 and 8 day trips

    Tour Details
    • BusTravel IcelandOperatorWritten December 2025

The hike is not really difficult and we always go to trails that can be done by everyone. However, you will need to be ready for short elevation (if necessary), and you will be walking on uneven gravel paths as well. It is always a good experience to visit the area that has been active the past 3 years with several eruptions. We count already 13 eruptions. While there is no active eruption right now, you will be able to see the lava fields and in some places you might be able to see smoke coming from the fields.

I have tried these tours. But the problem is it does not give you an option for 10 person rental. And the hotels are hostels with shared bathrooms. That's the reason I contacted you.
