Itinerary
- Day 1
Oberstdorf
You'll arrive in Oberstdorf and meet your group in town, then take the bus to Spielmannsau to kick off your hiking adventure. The first hike takes you through the narrow Sperrbachtobel ravine on steep paths up to Kemptner Hütte, your first mountain hut. Once you're there, relax on the terrace with a beer and get to know the other hikers while taking in the views around you.

- Day 2
Kemptner Hütte to Elbingenalp
After breakfast, you'll depart Kemptner Hütte and hike over Mädelejoch pass and through Höhenbachtal valley down to Holzgau in the Lechtal. A taxi then takes you to Madau for an afternoon hike to Memmingerhütte, which sits on a crystal-clear mountain lake surrounded by meadows where ibex and marmots live, with steep cliffs rising behind it.

Memmingerhütte to Zams
Leave early from Memmingerhütte and hike up through rocky ground past three Seewisee lakes, reaching Seescharte pass with its wide panoramic views. From there, the path gets tougher as you descend through Lochalpe (both upper and lower sections) and Zammer Loch before arriving in Zams for the night.

- Day 4
Zams to St. Leonhard
Hike the Veneter Höhenweg trail across alpine pastures and meadows with gentle elevation changes, finishing in Wenns. A taxi takes you to Mittelberg at the far end of Pitztal valley, and then you'll climb alongside a roaring glacier waterfall to reach Braunschweiger Hütte at 2,759 meters/9,052 feet, placing you very close to the glaciers.

St. Leonhard to Vent
Start before dawn from Braunschweiger Hütte and climb to Pitztaler Jöchl pass at 2,990 meters/9,810 feet, then traverse snow and ice across Rettenbachferner glacier with extraordinary views of the glacier landscape. Take the glacier road bus to Tiefenbachferner and continue on a high trail to Vent, then after lunch head up to Martin-Busch-Hütte at 2,501 meters/8,205 feet.

- Day 6
Vent to Merano
Your last hiking stage heads along Niedertalbach stream to Similaunhütte at over 3,000 meters/9,843 feet, surrounded by glaciers near where the 5,000-year-old Iceman 'Ötzi' was found. After resting, you'll descend through Tisenbach valley toward Vernagt, spotting the Vernagt lake along the way, then a taxi takes you to your hotel in Merano.

Merano to Oberstdorf
