The program concludes on Santorini Island and includes the transfer from your hotel to Santorini Airport or Port. Ferry tickets from Santorini Port to Piraeus Port, as well as the transfer from Piraeus Port to Athens Airport, are not included. am interested in coupling this tour (One Country: Numerous Cities and Islands) with another of your tours (Labyrinth of Crete). The former is scheduled for September 8-22, 2026, while the latter is from September 23-27, 2026. It appears I could take the Greece tour, which ends in Santorini, and then take a ferry to Crete so I would be there the day before the tour Crete starts -- so all I would need is an extra night's lodging on Crete. Before booking, I want to be sure that will work.

This was quite a good tour, and I would have rated it as excellent except for one issue -- but first the positives, which were numerous. The tour itinerary was excellent. I had literally waited years to find a tour that was comprehensive enough to cover all of my must-see sites in Greece and the Aegean Islands. The staff of Destination Services Greece are outstanding. Their photograph should appear when you Google the term "customer service". In particular, Vasileios worked miracles to fix problems that were MY fault. It is difficult to convey how good it feels to have someone truly supporting you when you're traveling--and how badly it feels if you don't have that kind of support. The food was good--mostly buffets--and most days we got breakfast and dinner. The main guide (Christina) was personable and informative, and did a good job keeping the group on time. Our driver Alexander was incredible, as he got a full-size bus through spots I wouldn't want to take a mid-size car. There were only two problematic issues, one relatively small and one significant. The small one is that the tour did not provide water on the bus. Having plenty of water was a big deal given it was 90-100 degrees F. Most tour companies I've used have provided water, so I've come to expect it. The bigger issue was the hotels at which I stayed. All but one was nice, and the only exception was in Thessaloniki where we got bumped from the first two hotel choices for some reason. Strange things happen, so that's understandable. What really bothered me about the hotels is that they were always a very long way --based on my experience with other tour companies--from the principal attractions. I am used to being within 5-10 minutes walking distance from such areas, but on this tour I was routinely at least 20 minutes (walking) and usually 30 minutes (walking) or more away from the things I came to see. That meant I either had to wear out my feet and use a lot of my time for walking or I had to pay extra for Uber trips. It didn't ruin the tour, but it meant that I got to experience less of what I came to see and do, as there were several times when I just gave up and stayed at the hotel instead of venturing out because I didn't want to walk so far or hassle with cabs. I'm sure the tour company saves money by using hotels further from the centers of attraction, but I would have paid more to be closer if I'd been given the choice. Note in case you are wondering: I paid the full cost of the tour (NOT a reduced rate in return for faraway hotel sites). All that being said, it was still a good tour and I enjoyed it considerably. There were significantly more positives than negatives, and were it not for the hotels being so far away I would have rated it as Excellent.Show more

She modified the schedule a little bit to make a little more sense and make most of each day. This is a conglomerate of different guided tours into one not one whole one would be my first disclaimer to people. The good: Itinerary, drivers, guides pick up point were all really on point. The guides were incredibly knowledgeable and organized. Our driver Alex was a rockstar. The islands in particular was spectacular and the accommodation of the hotels on the island were great. The bad: -NOT ENOUGH TIME AT SITES. We would get done and be told we have 5-10 minutes to look around to other parts we have not been. These are large sprawling sites. After paying thousands of dollars I do not want 5-10 minutes to walk around or be told we cannot explore the whole site due to time. 20 minutes minimum should be factored in. -The dinners provided were average to me. All buffet style, not bad but not memorable or impressive. The lunch stops were AWFUL. I skipped lunch almost every day as we stop at a pre-determined place. It was the same food options each time, which were the same dinners served. Got old really fast and the quality was not there. -Hotels: They were all fine enough but there was construction/events in almost every single one and that affected the sleep of all of us. Half of them required we move rooms that didn't make it much better. The other half were great. The itinerary was great, thus why I picked this tour, but it was NOT worth how much it cost at all. I would avoid as a result of the prices and the lack of time to explore and quality of the food/food options.Show more
