Itinerary
- Day 1
Moshi
After you arrive in Moshi at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro, you'll be transferred to your hotel for the day. This is when you rest and let your body start adjusting to the altitude. You can walk around town if you'd like, get your gear organized, and meet the climbing team and guides. They'll go over what to expect during the trek ahead.

Landmarks Mount Kilimanjaro - Day 2
Moshi to Mandara Hut
Following breakfast, you'll drive to Marangu Gate where the actual hiking starts. The trail takes you through thick rainforest on a well-kept path with a gradual climb. Watch for interesting plants and animals along the way. After about 4 to 5 hours of walking, you'll reach Mandara Hut at 2,700 metres/8,860 feet where you'll stay the night.

Landmarks Marangu Gate Mandara Hut - Day 3
Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut
You'll have breakfast and then leave the rainforest as the landscape changes. The trail opens into moorland with grasslands where you can spot unusual plants including giant lobelias and senecios. Views become more dramatic as you get closer to Kilimanjaro's base. After roughly 5 to 6 hours of hiking, you'll arrive at Horombo Hut at 3,720 metres/12,205 feet with wide views of the surrounding area.

Landmarks Horombo Hut - Day 4
Horombo Hut Acclimatization Day
Today focuses on letting your body adjust to the higher altitude, which helps your chances of making it to the summit. You have the option to take a shorter walk to either Zebra Rocks or Mawenzi Tarn, both with great views. This gives your system time to get used to the thinner air and reduces the risk of altitude sickness. You'll return to Horombo Hut for another night.

Horombo Hut to Uhuru Peak
The summit push starts around midnight so you can reach the top as the sun rises. You'll head out from Kibo Hut covering about 4 kilometres on a steep and tough route. The hike takes 6 to 8 hours total, with the final push to Uhuru Peak being the most challenging part. You'll stand at Uhuru Peak at 5,895 metres/19,341 feet, the highest point on the mountain.

- Day 6
Uhuru Peak to Horombo Hut
After your time at Uhuru Peak, you'll head back down to Kibo Hut for a short break and some rest. Then you continue descending to Horombo Hut at 3,720 metres/12,205 feet where you'll have your final night on the mountain before heading down.
