Itinerary
- Day 1
Reykjavik
You'll arrive in Reykjavik and get transferred to your hotel. Once there, head to the AE Expeditions hospitality desk where you'll collect your luggage tags and pick up information about the surrounding area. The rest of the day is yours to do as you like, so it's a good chance to rest up or wander around town if you're not too jet-lagged.

- Day 2
Reykjavik
After breakfast and checking out, you'll join a guided tour of Iceland's Golden Circle. The route takes you through Gullfoss waterfall, the Geysir geothermal area, and Thingvellir National Park. You'll also tour the Ljósafossvirkjun geothermal power plant and stop by Sólheimar eco-village. By late afternoon you're back in Reykjavik, where you'll board the ship and meet your expedition team.

Westfjords
This day focuses on the Westfjords region with its dramatic fjords and distinctive table mountains. You'll visit Latrabjarg cliffs, which holds the title of Europe's largest bird cliff and hosts millions of seabirds including puffins. During the cruise northward, keep your eyes open for whales. Later, a Zodiac landing gets you close to Dynjandi waterfall.

Thingeyri
You'll head to Thingeyri, a small village set in Dýrafjörður fjord and surrounded by tall mountains. There are three activities included, so you choose what appeals to you most: learn about Viking history and tour a recreated Viking settlement with its museum, or hike Sandafell Mountain to get views out over the town and the landscape around it.

Vigur Island
The day is spent on Vigur Island, where you can explore its unique ecosystem through walks and hikes at different difficulty levels. Watch for puffins and other seabirds along the shoreline, or venture further inland to find hidden natural spots. There's plenty of room to move at your own pace here.

Landmarks Vigur Island - Day 6
Akureyri
You'll dock in Akureyri, Iceland's second largest city, with a snow-capped mountain providing a backdrop. There are three different 8-hour guided excursion options, so pick one that suits you: visit Godafoss waterfall and Lake Mývatn with the Mývatn Nature Baths, or see Godafoss along with the pseudo craters at Lake Mývatn and the lava formations at Dimmuborgir, or hike Hverfjall volcanic crater, explore Dimmuborgir and visit Dettifoss waterfall. Your evening is free to walk around Akureyri's streets, check out the local pubs and breweries.

Reykjavik
The ship pulls into Reykjavik early in the morning, and you'll disembark around 8:00 AM. After saying goodbye to your expedition team and fellow passengers, you'll transfer either to Keflavik airport or to a hotel in the city center, depending on your plans.
