Join a half-day city tour starting from your hotel. Walk through the Rocks to see convict history, head through the CBD and Macquarie Street to view 18th-century sandstone buildings like Parliament House and Hyde Park Barracks. Stop at Mrs. Macquarie's Point for views of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge. Continue to the Eastern Suburbs, reach Watsons Bay with optional coastal walks, then spend 30 minutes at Bondi Beach. Fitzroy Island
Leave Cairns Reef Fleet Terminal at 8:45am on an air-conditioned catamaran heading to Fitzroy Island, about 1 hour away. You'll have roughly 6.5 hours on this rainforest island to snorkel, take a glass bottom boat tour, walk self-guided rainforest trails, and explore beaches. There's restaurant and bar service on the island, plus equipment rentals available. Head back to Cairns at 5:00pm.
