We would not recommend booking a flight as early as 10:15 AM on November 6. As a general rule, you should plan to leave the lodge approximately 5 hours before your flight departure time, due to the transfer duration and the time required at the airport. For this reason, we recommend booking a flight departing from around 12:00 PM onwards whenever possible. Alternatively, it may be worth considering spending one night in Cuiabá after the tour and taking a more relaxed flight the following morning.

The chances of spotting jaguars are really high. However, if you'd like to extend your stay it is possible. Please let me know how many nights you'd like to spend in Porto Jofre and I'll send you a customised quote.

These are not traditional group tours with fixed arrival dates; guests are free to arrive on the day that best suits them. Once at the lodge, all excursions are organized in small groups, usually of around 8–10 people, which is ideal for solo travellers and allows for a more social yet intimate experience. The stay can certainly be extended. You may choose to include an overnight stay in Porto Jofre at the time of booking, or you can extend your stay by adding an extra night at the lodge itself, which costs approximately USD 100 per additional night. Additionally, if your flight schedules are not ideal for the lodge transfers, we can also assist with booking hotels at the beginning and/or end of the trip to ensure smooth logistics.

There's no star rating for the boat but it is considered a standard accommodation. Same as for the lodge. The stay on the boat it's managed by the lodge himself, but it's usually organised in the middle of the lodge stay because it's easier for the transfers.

I have some difficulty walking/hiking and would like to know more about included walks/hikes on this tour ie. length and difficulty.

The hiking excursions are usually not too long or demanding. The lodge is flexible and usually allows you to do another excursion and replace the hikes. You may repeat the same excursion twice, but that doesn't mean you'll see the same animals.

Saw an anaconda, monkeys, giant otters, caimans, a tapir, and 7 jaguars. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and was able to recognize the jaguars by their spots and knew something about each one. The lodge seemed to be in a state of confusion. Tours were cancelled or rearranged. We rode a mule not a horse. Breakfast was removed an hour before it should have been. There were no animals on the walking tours and the night tour where you climbed a tower had lights at top which attracted mosquitos. Our friends were not on lists for tours and missed the best one of all..the jaguar tour. If it hadn't been for Arthur Calejon, an interpreter and all around helper, it would have been a total disaster. I would not recommend this particular lodge.Show more

I did try to contact you after receiving your review to better understand some of the points you raised, particularly as several of the situations described were not clear enough for us to investigate properly. For example, the lodge has confirmed that breakfast is normally served from 7:00 to 9:30 a.m., so I would have liked to understand what happened in your particular case. Similarly, while wildlife sightings can never be guaranteed in such a natural environment, I would have appreciated more details about the walking tours in order to investigate your experience with the lodge. I was also particularly concerned by your comment that “our friends were not on lists for tours and missed the best one of all... the jaguar tour”. According to our records, you and your travel companion were correctly registered and took part in the jaguar excursion as planned, without experiencing any issue with the booking or access to the tour. This makes it particularly important for me to understand who you were referring to as “our friends”. If you were referring to other guests travelling with you, I would need more information about their booking and what happened to them before I could reasonably hold the lodge responsible for the situation. I completely respect your right to share your opinion, and I do not wish to dismiss your concerns. Tours were educational and guides could spot and identify animals/ birds/flora very quickly. Not convinced the transport met the demands of the terrain. Some amendments to trips may have been neccessary but not always explained in advance A small fridge in the room would have been beneficial. The Cuiaba hotel was average and in a far from salubrious part of town. However what an experience overall - another bucket list item ticked. Now I wonder what is like in the wet season!!Show more

  The prices were updated a few days ago, so the current rate is now the same for all departure dates—there are no more expensive or cheaper days depending on the date. The price you saw referred to the per person rate based on double occupancy. For a solo traveler, the current price is USD 2,015. As for jaguar sightings, starting from June there are generally good chances of sightings, as this is considered a favorable period.

  I have checked the possibility of adding extra nights. It is technically possible, however the cost is quite high because the lodge packages are structured only for 1- or 2-night stays. Any additional nights outside of those predefined packages come at a significantly higher rate. The supplement for extra nights would be USD 500 per person. That said, I would like to reassure you that the chances of spotting jaguars are already very high within the standard program. Adding more nights would mainly mean repeating similar boat excursions. After a couple of days, these outings can start to feel repetitive, as the structure of the wildlife tracking remains essentially the same.

  Please let me know the length of each hike/walk ie number of miles/KM. How many minutes/hours per hike. I have stiffness in my back and I am limited on how long and how far I can walk.

  The walks and hikes are always adapted both in distance and duration, depending on the wildlife sightings and the conditions of the day. Sometimes you only need to walk a few metres to see a lot, while in other cases the walk may be slightly longer. There are also several viewing points very close to the lodge where guests can stay and observe wildlife without needing to walk long distances. The guides are very attentive and will tailor the pace and length of each outing to your comfort and physical needs.

Payment information
- For any tour departing before November 24th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after November 24th, 2026, a minimum payment of 30% is required to confirm your booking with ETours Brazil DMC. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 65 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
- Some departure dates and prices may vary and ETours Brazil DMC will contact you with any discrepancies before your booking is confirmed.
- The following cards are accepted for "ETours Brazil DMC" tours: Visa, Maestro, Mastercard, American Express or PayPal. TourRadar does NOT charge you an extra fee for using any of these payment methods.
