I want to include the 2 night Chalana boat option. Can you confirm the total length of tour if this is included/finish time? Is this then a 6 night 7 day tour in total, with day 1 and day 7 airport transfers? or do the boat activities replace some of the days still within the 5 day total trip length?

The chances of spotting jaguars are really high. However, if you'd like to extend your stay it is possible. Please let me know how many nights you'd like to spend in Porto Jofre and I'll send you a customised quote.

What does the tour entail and what are the extras? Is it possible to extend the tour to 6 days?

These are not traditional group tours with fixed arrival dates; guests are free to arrive on the day that best suits them. Once at the lodge, all excursions are organized in small groups, usually of around 8–10 people, which is ideal for solo travellers and allows for a more social yet intimate experience. The stay can certainly be extended. You may choose to include an overnight stay in Porto Jofre at the time of booking, or you can extend your stay by adding an extra night at the lodge itself, which costs approximately USD 100 per additional night. Additionally, if your flight schedules are not ideal for the lodge transfers, we can also assist with booking hotels at the beginning and/or end of the trip to ensure smooth logistics.

What star rating is the chalana boat? Will purchase of the extra night on the chalana be the be on the 6th day after the 5 day tour initially ends?

There's no star rating for the boat but it is considered a standard accommodation. Same as for the lodge. The stay on the boat it's managed by the lodge himself, but it's usually organised in the middle of the lodge stay because it's easier for the transfers.

I have some difficulty walking/hiking and would like to know more about included walks/hikes on this tour ie. length and difficulty.

The hiking excursions are usually not too long or demanding. The lodge is flexible and usually allows you to do another excursion and replace the hikes. You may repeat the same excursion twice, but that doesn't mean you'll see the same animals.

Is it possible to skip lunch and head to Poconé and do a evening walk after arriving at the airport at 4pm?

Yes, it is possible to arrange a transfer on the same day. The order of the excursions is at the discretion of the lodge and may be subject to change.

I have looked at numerous web sites trying to find a Jaguar tour. Does you tour actually go the area in the Pantanal where I am most likely to see jaguars?

The Full Day Jaguar Safari Tour included in the package takes place in Porto Jofre, which is the most renowned location in the Pantanal for jaguar sightings. The area is particularly well-known for offering some of the best opportunities to observe jaguars in the wild, especially during the dry season.

Do you have departures in Fabruary and March 2026?

Tours were educational and guides could spot and identify animals/ birds/flora very quickly. Not convinced the transport met the demands of the terrain. Some amendments to trips may have been neccessary but not always explained in advance A small fridge in the room would have been beneficial. The Cuiaba hotel was average and in a far from salubrious part of town. However what an experience overall - another bucket list item ticked. Now I wonder what is like in the wet season!!Show more

  I have checked the possibility of adding extra nights. It is technically possible, however the cost is quite high because the lodge packages are structured only for 1- or 2-night stays. Any additional nights outside of those predefined packages come at a significantly higher rate. The supplement for extra nights would be USD 500 per person. That said, I would like to reassure you that the chances of spotting jaguars are already very high within the standard program. Adding more nights would mainly mean repeating similar boat excursions. After a couple of days, these outings can start to feel repetitive, as the structure of the wildlife tracking remains essentially the same.
