Ho Chi Minh City
You'll land in Ho Chi Minh City and get straight into it. The streets here move fast with motorbikes everywhere, so take some time to get oriented. The War Remnants Museum is a must-see for understanding the country's history. If you want to venture beyond the city, there are optional trips available like the Cu Chi Tunnels, Cao Dai Temple, or the Mekong Delta. You can also just walk around the neighborhoods and see what you find.

- Days 4 - 8
Ho Chi Minh City to Phnom Penh to Battambang
From Ho Chi Minh City, you'll head to Cambodia and settle into Phnom Penh for three nights. The Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda are architectural highlights, but the heavier pieces of history come at the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum and Killing Fields. After that, you travel to Battambang on the Sangkae River where the pace feels slower and more relaxed. The temples around town are worth checking out, and the famous Bamboo Railway offers a unique way to see the countryside.

- Days 9 - 12
Battambang to Siem Reap
You'll take a boat cruise upriver from Battambang along the Tonle Sap Lake until you reach Siem Reap. Four days here means plenty of time for the Temples of Angkor, and Angkor Wat is the centerpiece everyone comes for. Your one-day pass includes a guided tour, and you can pick between exploring by tuk-tuk with a driver or going by bicycle depending on your energy level. Between temple runs, Siem Reap's got restaurants, bars, and other travelers around if you want that vibe.

- Days 13 - 18
Siem Reap to Bangkok
It's a full day's drive with a border crossing to reach Bangkok, Thailand's enormous and hot capital. You'll have three nights to explore the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew with its Emerald Buddha. The khlong tours through canals give you a different side of the city, and the floating markets are worth the early start. Khao San Road has all the tourist energy if you want it, or you can book an optional trip to Kanchanaburi for the Bridge on the River Kwai and war cemeteries.

- Days 19 - 24
Beach Week
From Bangkok, you'll travel to Surit Thani and then catch a ferry out to Ko Pha-ngan or Ko Samui for beach week. These islands are famous for scuba diving, white sand, and clear water. Keep in mind this portion isn't covered by your tour package, so you'll arrange your own accommodations and activities, but your return ferry is included. This is your time to relax and do whatever appeals to you most.

Ko Pha-ngan/Ko Samui to Surit Thani to Hat Yai to Penang
You'll meet back up with the group and take the ferry from the islands back to Surit Thani. After that, it's a drive to Hat Yai for one night before crossing the border into Malaysia. When you arrive in Penang, you'll notice the layered history right away. This former British colony has Malay, Indian, Chinese, and European influences showing in the architecture, the people, and especially the food.

- Days 28 - 31
Penang to Medan to Lake Danau Toba
A short flight gets you to Medan on Sumatra (this flight isn't included, so you'll book it during your trip). From there, head inland to Lake Danau Toba, a massive crater lake where the Batak people live. You'll stay on Pulau Samosir in the middle of the lake and explore by bike or motorbike. Try cooking classes, trek through the highlands, swim in the lake, visit the traditional sopo houses, see white churches, and experience the local culture. Palm wine at the toddy shops is part of the experience too.

Lake Danau Toba to Bukit Lawang
Deep into the Sumatran jungle you go to Bukit Lawang for the orangutan feeding station in Gunung Leuser National Park. Your included jungle trek lets you see these animals up close and walk through the rainforest. If you're up for it, optional activities include the bat cave, guided day hikes or overnight treks to spot wild orangutans and other primates, plus floating back downriver on an inner tube.

Bukit Lawang to Penang to Pulau Perhentian to Kuala Lumpur to Melaka
Back to Malaysia, you'll explore Georgetown on Penang island, walking past colonial buildings and checking out the street art around town. Then it's across the peninsula to Pulau Perhentian, an undeveloped tropical spot where you can snorkel or dive just offshore and see turtles and sharks. Speedboat rides across the bay add some adventure. From there, you head to Kuala Lumpur with its colonial neighborhoods, Little India, Chinatown, Petronas Towers, and KL Tower. Finally, Melaka shows you Malay, Portuguese, Dutch, and British influences all mixed together with river boat trips, museums, temples, churches, St John's Fort, and the Melaka Zoo.

Singapore
You'll arrive in Singapore and start getting a feel for the city right away. There's plenty to see here, from the zoo to the shopping districts, so you can pick what interests you most. The food scene is really something to try if you're hungry. Later this evening, head to the Long Bar at Raffles Hotel and order a Singapore Sling to wrap up your time in Asia. It's a nice way to reflect on everything you've done since the trip started.
