Itinerary
- Day 1
City Arrival
You'll touch down and head to your hotel in the city on your own. No guide meets you, so it's straightforward transportation from the airport.
- Day 2
Guatemala City - Antigua
Start the day with a city tour that takes in Plaza Central, the National Palace, and Metropolitan Cathedral. Then you'll spend time at the Mayan Culture Museum looking through extensive artifacts from across Guatemala. After that, the drive takes you through the Guatemalan highlands all the way to Antigua.

- Day 3
Antigua - Lake Atitlán
Following breakfast, you'll walk through Antigua, one of Latin America's oldest cities and a former colonial capital. The day includes visiting the ruins of a religious monastery and a coffee finca. Later you'll head to Lake Atitlán, ending up in Panajachel for the evening.

Lake Atitlán
A boat takes you across Lake Atitlán to the traditional village of Santiago Atitlán, which sits at the foot of volcanoes. From there you'll go to San Juan La Laguna where local women demonstrate traditional weaving. The boat brings you back to Panajachel by day's end.

Chichicastenango - Quetzaltenango
You'll check out the colorful market in Chichicastenango and then see the over 400-year-old church of Santo Tomás. After exploring, you'll continue on to Quetzaltenango where you'll stay for the evening.

- Day 6
Quetzaltenango - Guatemala City
The day begins by seeing the towns of Almolonga and Zunil before heading to the market in San Francisco El Alto. From there you get panoramic views of Quetzaltenango (17 km away) and the volcanoes. You'll also stop at the church of San Andrés Xecúl, which features paintings based on Mayan mythology. The return to Guatemala City happens in the evening.

Tikal Mayan Site
An early flight takes you from Guatemala City to Flores, and then a bus brings you to Tikal, the well-known Mayan site in the tropical rainforest. This archaeological location ranks among the most important Mayan sites. After lunch you'll visit the Sylvanus G. Morley Museum, then fly back to Guatemala City.

Departure
If you're interested, there's an optional climb of Pacaya volcano in the morning. Later you'll transfer to the airport for your flight out.
