I'm currently exploring the idea of taking the Ha Giang loop with a motorbike. I'm single person, with UK license and I can convert it to international if required. If I take this tour, more or less when am I going to return to Hanoi?

You can do Ha Giang motorbike trip like: 11th Nov: pick up in Hanoi between 19:00-19:30, 12th Nov: Motorbike trip, 13th Nov: Motorbike trip, 14th Nov: Motorbike trip - Bus back to Hanoi. Arriving Hanoi around 23:00. It is required the international driving lisence if you want to drive yourself. If not, there is a local driver every day.

The Chinese Embassy need invitation letter from the tour agent and also the confirmation of paid tour before they can issue visa.

I have a big traveling backpack with 20kg and a small backpack for traveling. Will this be a problem? Where can I leave the big backpack while driving?

  The driver provided will be paid extra or is it included in the final price? What about the petrol consumed? I'm assuming it is the same like renting a car, so fuel is paid by the customer. Could you provide more on motorbike hire insurance?
