Itinerary

  1. Days 1 - 2

    Diani Beach

    This day is completely free to do what you want. The beach is there if you feel like swimming, the pool if you want to lounge around, and the hotel has all its facilities available to you. It's a good chance to settle in before heading inland.

  2. Day 3

    Mombasa to Tsavo West National Park

    After eating breakfast, you'll drive inland toward Tsavo West National Park and the Taita Hills Conservation Area. You'll reach Salt Lick Safari Lodge in time for lunch. From there, a game drive takes you through the roughly 110-square-kilometer reserve where you can see elephants, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, and different antelope species. If the timing works out, you might spot lions, leopards, or cheetahs. Back at the lodge for dinner, you'll have views looking out over the Lumo Community Sanctuary.

  3. Day 4

    Tsavo West to Amboseli National Park

    You'll drive to Amboseli National Park after breakfast, arriving at Amboseli Sentrim Camp for lunch. In the afternoon, you can choose to go on a game drive or stay at the camp and swim in the pool while watching Mount Kilimanjaro in the distance. That evening, there's a campfire gathering where you'll meet other travelers and Maasai warriors who'll share information about their culture.

  4. Day 5

    Amboseli National Park

    Game drives fill your entire day in Amboseli National Park. You'll see large groups of elephants with Mount Kilimanjaro as the backdrop, along with zebras, wildebeests, gazelles, buffalo, waterbucks, lions, cheetahs, jackals, and hyenas. The afternoon includes a picnic lunch at Observation Hill where you can see across the park. Look for hippos and various water birds in the swamp sections. You'll head back to camp as the sun sets.

  5. Day 6

    Amboseli to Ziwani Conservation Area

    After breakfast, you'll head to Ziwani Conservation Area, a private reserve between Tsavo West and Tanzania. Lunch happens at Voyager Ziwani Camp when you arrive. The rest of your time is flexible. You can join the camp's Adventurer's Club activities, go on a game drive, take a guided nature walk to learn about the plants and how to track animals, or sign up for a night safari to see animals that come out after dark.

    Ziwani to Tsavo East National Park

    You'll drive to Tsavo East National Park, famous for its red elephants, and arrive at Tsavo Sentrim Camp for lunch. A game drive follows where you'll see giraffes, zebras, buffalo, gazelles, waterbucks, elephant herds, and many bird species like hornbills, eagles, kingfishers, and storks. The camp has a waterhole right in front of the restaurant where animals come to drink throughout the day and night. During dinner, you can watch wildlife as they visit after dark.

  7. Day 8

    Tsavo East to Diani Beach

    This morning's early game drive catches animals when they're most active, then you'll have breakfast before driving back to the coast. You'll return to Eleven Pearl Boutique Hotel & Spa on Diani Beach and spend the afternoon relaxing on the white sand. The hotel's location near a reef makes it good for snorkeling and diving if you're interested.

  8. Days 9 - 13

    Diani Beach

    You have five full days at Eleven Pearl Boutique Hotel & Spa to do as you like. The beach is available for swimming and sunbathing, or you can try snorkeling to see the colorful fish in the water. The hotel also offers activities where you can learn about African culture, the local plants, and different wildlife.

    Departure
