Old Cairo visit typically covers the Citadel and the Religious Complex.

Overall it worked out quite well. Some items were not clear to begin with, but I managed to get them straightened out with the tour operator. However, some things were almost deceptive in nature and advertised as being included, but they will all cost you extra. Some of the examples: 1 it tells you that you will visit the pyramids and all the other sights of Egypt. Problem is, unless you pay extra entrance fees, I am sure I paid over 20 times, 3-5-7-900 EPounds each, you will never get to see any of those sites. 2 The title says you will see Alexandria, but you won't, unless you book and pay for an extra day trip there and back, entrance fees to the three sites on the itinerary, plus of course both the driver and the guide expect a tip. Yes, it does say optional, but if it says you will see it in the title, then they shouldn't charge for it. 3 I had to add an extra day to see the GEM, as I was not told that Alexandria and Sakkara were in conflict with each other for time, and that I could only do one or the other on a ten day itinerary, until it was to late and I had to add an extra night at the hotel and I had to change my return flight that was quite a costly endeavour in itself. 4 The Nile cruise was great, and probably the highlight of the trip for me, however, I would not call the boat itself a 5 star accommodation. The buffet was not very good, and climbing through up to 6 other boats to get to yours at the end of the line, was doable, but again, not a 5 star experience. 5 The free lunch on the Giza Plateau day was very poor. Nice restaurant, but awful food. On the other hand, the meal we had on the Luxor Westbank tour was probably the best I had on the whole tour with the meal on the Sakkara tour day a close second, both were better than the meals in the 5star hotel I was staying. 6 the drivers we had were overall very competent, as were the guides. However, the driver to Abu Simbel was reckless and endangered the passengers with his driving style. Sorry, but passing on a two lane highway with a solid centre line while approaching a small hill where you can not see what is coming from the other side was absolutely terrifying. He did this a couple of times. Yes, traffic was light, but that is no excuse for endangering everyone just because you want to get to your destination faster. The other driver I was also displeased with was the one taking me to Bahariya and back. The vehicle was very poor. I had to switch from the backseat to the front because the seat was so worn out, my back started to hurt. His driving was also very poor, plus if you know that you have to drive x-amount of kilometres that day then please fill your vehicle with gasoline, especially on the return trip when he did nothing but wait for us all morning. I don't mind the od restroom/coffee break, but you need to go so many times in a three hour trip. One short comment on the Desert camping trip. It was great, the scenery was stunning and so unexpected, but remember, this is camping in the wilderness, so if you are not used to and don't mind going to the bathroom crouching down after you have dug a hole in the sand, then this is not for you. It was also VERY cold when I went, and the tent, the sleeping bag and the camel hair blanket plus I kept all my clothes on, were barely sufficient to keep me warm. One last thing on tipping. I would gladly pay more if you had a tour that was advertised as 'all tips included'. Tipping was the number one stress inducer on the whole tour for everybody. Some would pay nothing, some would pay a lot and then we would feel we were either cheap or paying to much. It was a nightmare. Great sites, great guides and mostly great drivers, wonderful people all over, mind opening, but some shortcomings.Show more

We felt well looked after throughout the trip and any special requests were met promptly and reliably. Our guides in Cairo also deserve our sincerest thanks. The visit to Old Cairo (special request), Giza, Sakkhara, Alexandria and the GEM was a special experience and gave us a good impression of Egyptian culture. Another highlight of our trip was the excursion to the White and Black Desert and the Crystal Mountains. This part of Egypt is a little off the beaten track and is only offered by a few tour operators. But it is definitely recommended. However, I do have one small criticism to make. The guides after Abu Simbel, the Nile cruise and also in Luxor could not satisfy us. Some of their explanations were wrong and we had the feeling that they were simply reeling off their program. After my experiences from my trip in 2006 and this trip, I would probably do without a Nile cruise and instead fly directly to Abu Simbel and from there to Luxor. Abu Simbel and Luxor (with the temples in Luxor and Karnak, as well as the Valley of the Kings) are a must for any interested traveler to Egypt. .   I did not see where I could select some activities for example, Coptic Cairo and Feluuca ride. I also want to know if the insurance can be bought at a later date. Perhaps only 1 or 2 travelers want that insurance. I also want to make sure that we get a room with a balcony on the cruise ship and a room in our hotel with the pyramids in view. We also agreed that all meals will be supplied on the ship and desert.

This is absolutely doable and it will take you a half day to cover the main tour sites in this area. In case you will arrive in Cairo early on the first day or if you leave Cairo late on the last day, we can inject it to the itinerary. This will cost you approximately $65 per person. 3. Old Cairo visit typically covers the Citadel and the Religious Complex.

  i am worried, in the travel description is mentioned a daytrip to Alexandria, but at the booking site are mentioned additional optional costs of 105 €. Which day would be the optional visit of Dendera, which time the visit of Nubic Village, which day the tour to Sakhara, Dahshur, Memphis. If we book all the additional, optional trips, which part of the original plan will not be visited?

  1. Alexandria is an optional tour for additional charge. In case you don't choose it, you can enjoy a free day at your pace or you might select one of the offered options in Cairo like Sakkara or Old Cairo. 2. Dendarah visit is a great option. Our guests usually do it on the last day of the Nile Cruise program. 3. Nubian village is short excursion that can be done on the arrival day in Aswan afternoon.

Would it be possible to be picked up from the airport and taken to the hotel which will be used for the tour. Can you please let me know what entrance/attraction fees are included and which ones aren't? If there are extras to be purchased is EGP, USD or card payment more likely to be needed? How much per day is considered a good amount for gratuities and in which currencies? How are the gratuities collected and distributed?

  Will the hotel be the same as the tour or do we have to transfer the day the tour. Will there be any added cost. In a few of the river cruise reviews I have read that certain cabins on the boat are unpleasant due to noise and diesel fumes, can we avoid these if possible?

The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 60 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
