Itinerary
- Day 1
Antigua
You'll arrive in Antigua and get settled at your hotel. If you make it there early, wander through the vibrant markets and local cafes, or swing by the ChocoMuseo to see how they make traditional chocolate. The welcome meeting happens at 6 pm, so you'll have some time to get oriented before then.

- Day 2
Antigua to Quetzaltenango
After breakfast, you're heading to San Andres Itzapa for a shamanic ceremony at the Temple of San Simon (Maximon). You'll make an offering of rum or tobacco as part of the experience. From there, you'll travel on to Quetzaltenango for group lunch and a walk through the city with your leader. The locals call it Xela.

- Day 3
Quetzaltenango
Starting early, you'll take a chicken bus to Almolonga, which is the colorful local transport experience you'll only find in Guatemala. The market there is famous for its giant vegetables and is worth exploring to interact with the vendors and locals. After that, you'll head back to your hotel for breakfast.

Quetzaltenango to Chichicastenango
Following breakfast, you're off to Chichicastenango market, one of the largest outdoor markets in Latin America. With a local leader guiding you, you'll walk through thousands of stalls selling textiles, wooden handicrafts, jade jewelry, huipils, pottery, and leather goods. Your evening is free, and you might grab dinner with other travelers if you'd like.

Landmarks Chichicastenango Market - Day 5
Chichicastenango to Lake Atitlan
You'll take a scenic boat ride across Lake Atitlan surrounded by volcanoes and Maya villages, heading to Santiago Atitlan. There you'll visit the shrine of Maximon and meet local shamans who'll share local spirits and tell you about the deity and life on the lake. By afternoon, you're back in Panajachel with the evening free to relax along the shore.

- Day 6
Panajachel to Antigua
The morning in Panajachel is yours to do what you want. Sleep in, relax, or join an optional Mayan cooking class to learn about local food and traditions. In the afternoon, a private transfer takes you back to Antigua. After checking in, your leader will take you on a walk through the historic center. You can arrange a final group dinner with your fellow travelers if you're interested.
