Itinerary
- Day 1
Helsinki
You'll arrive at Helsinki airport and head to your hotel in the city center. After you settle in, the rest of your afternoon and evening are open for you to explore at your own pace. There's a welcome meeting back at the hotel lobby around 7pm with champagne cocktails or juice to kick things off.

- Day 2
Helsinki
A guided tour takes you through Helsinki's main highlights including the harbours, Senate Square with its Lutheran Cathedral, the Parliament Building, Finlandia Hall, and the Sibelius Monument. You'll also stop at the unique Church-in-the-Rock. In the afternoon, there's an optional excursion out to Suomenlinna Fortress, an 18th century island stronghold you can visit if you're interested.

- Day 3
Helsinki to Lappeenranta
You'll take a train to Lappeenranta in South Karelia, arriving after midday. This town sits on Lake Saimaa and has roots as an 18th century Swedish fortress. A walking tour covers the Old Town, the port area, the fortress, and the wooden Orthodox Mary the Virgin Church. Later in the afternoon, you'll walk to the pier and take a 3-hour evening cruise on Lake Saimaa and the Saimaa Canal. The ship has a restaurant where you can grab drinks, snacks, or meals while watching the scenery.

Lappeenranta
You have a free day in Lappeenranta to do what you like. The hotel sits nicely between the Old Town and the port, so both are within easy reach. You could browse boutique shops in the Old Town, try Karelian lunch at a local spot, or just hang out at the port and take in the atmosphere and views. Late afternoon, you'll head to the train station for your train back to Helsinki.
