Itinerary
- Day 1
Puerto Morelos
You'll arrive in Puerto Morelos and check into Hotel Arenas. There's a pre-departure briefing at 5:30 pm, then dinner with the rest of the group so you can meet your fellow travelers. The beach has good swimming, though you should know that sargassum algae shows up from time to time.

Landmarks Puerto Morelos Reef - Day 2
Puerto Morelos to Pisté
Start the morning with a snorkeling tour at Puerto Morelos Reef. After that, you'll head to Xú'x Ha Cenote, which is one of the best cenotes in the Yucatan Peninsula. From there, travel to Pisté, the village closest to Chichen Itza, and settle into Hotel Chichen Itza for the night.

- Day 3
Pisté to Bacalar
You'll enter Chichén Itza archaeological site when it opens and walk through this UNESCO World Heritage site with the iconic Kukulcan Pyramid. Local Yucatec Mayans will share their traditions and prepare traditional lunch. Later, travel to Bacalar, a relaxed village by a pristine lagoon, where you'll check out the main square and find the best places to eat.

- Day 4
Bacalar
Go on a sailing tour of Bacalar Lagoon, which feeds from underground cenotes and has seven different shades of blue. You'll cruise the narrow lake and swim in clear water. In the afternoon, head to Xul Ha for a free afternoon where you can swim and kayak.

- Day 5
Bacalar to Calakmul
Travel to either Becan or Calakmul Archaeological Site depending on opening schedules due to nearby railway construction. Both sites sit within one of Mexico's largest reserves with varied wildlife. You'll climb ancient pyramids in remote locations and watch for woodpeckers and howler monkeys. Later, visit a bat sinkhole and watch millions of bats emerge at sunset before heading to basic cabin accommodations.

- Day 6
Calakmul to Palenque
Head to Palenque with a stop at Cenote Miguel Colorado for lunch. This open cenote offers a different experience from the cenotes you've seen. Look out for spider monkeys and other wildlife. When you reach Palenque National Park, settle into Cabañas Kin Balam campsite. The evening is yours to relax by the bar or pool, with a bonfire planned under the stars.

- Day 7
Palenque
Take a guided tour of Palenque Archaeological Site deep in the jungle. You'll see Mayan architecture, sculptures, and bas-relief carvings throughout. After the tour, either hike back through the jungle from the ruins or try a traditional Temascal indigenous steam bath experience.

Visit churches, look around markets, and check out museums with folk costumes. In the afternoon, continue on your own through downtown, grab some local food, or experience the nightlife.

San Cristóbal de las Casas
