On the Gulet cruise, is snorkelling gear provided?

The boats keep some masks and fins, however, these are mostly equipment left by previous travellers and aren't always in a great condition. Therefore, we suggest bringing our own if you are keen on snorkelling while on the trip.

Are kids aged 8 permitted in this tour (Aegean Legacy)?

Unfortunately we have a minimum age requirement of 8 years and above on this trip due to the gulet section of the trip, we are unable to accept young children on the gulet trips - the minumum age requirements i 12 years of age.

It is worth taking the extra day in Istanbul at the start, and maybe more than one as there is a lot to see which is not on the tour and it is great place to just wander around. We were disappointed that between visiting the archaeological sites, which were sometimes a bit rushed, we were used as a captive audience for carpet and leather salesman. If someone in your group shows any interest then be prepared to hang around for ages while they attempt to close the sale. We would have preferred to have had a little longer in bed.Show more

We agree totally with your comments about Istanbul, it's a fascinating city with lots to see and do. On the tour we aim to visit the most famous highlights, but you could easily spend a few extra days here and still only scratch the surface. We're happy to add extra nights either in the same tour hotel or in somewhere different if people prefer. I'm pleased to hear you enjoyed the city. I am sorry however that you weren't happy with the shopping stops which were included on the tour. It's always a tricky balance to strike with shopping and we do make a conscious effort to include less of these stops than others, though we have decided not to remove them completely as we know that some of our travellers do appreciate being able to shop in a reputable store with good quality produce. Equally, we know that some people aren't as keen, so we're sorry if these stops affected your enjoyment of those days.

- For any tour departing before October 26th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after October 26th, 2026, a minimum payment of $250 is required to confirm your booking with Encounters Travel. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 65 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
