Hello Michael, Thank you very much for taking the time to share such a detailed review of your Galapagos experience. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed the tours, found the guides attentive to all participants, and appreciated the punctuality and kindness of our service providers and drivers. We sincerely regret that the Standard category accommodations did not fully meet your expectations. Your feedback regarding facilities, breakfast availability on early transfer days, and wetsuit provision is very valuable to us. We will review these points with our local partners to ensure greater consistency and comfort for future guests. It is wonderful to know that Josselyn was able to assist you throughout your journey and provide support when needed. Your comments about the Sierra Negra hike and snorkelling will also be very helpful for other travelers preparing for their trip. We truly appreciate your constructive feedback as it helps us improve our services. We hope to welcome you again in the future, perhaps with a higher accommodation category that would better suit your expectations. Warm regards, Responsible Travel

    Asked on October 7th, 2024

At what time is it best to fly from UIO to SCY on day 1 and then to fly back from GPS to UIO on Day 7 please? How do the 3-star hotels differ from the 4-star hotels please? Are there any other activities if a person does not want to snorkel in the water please? Are wetsuits and snorkel equipment provided for snorkeling (is there a cost) please?

For the flight from Quito (UIO) to San Cristobal (SCY) on Day 1, I recommend choosing a morning flight, ideally between 7:00 AM and 9:00 AM. For the return flight from Galápagos (GPS) to Quito (UIO) on Day 7, a mid-morning to early afternoon flight (around 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM) is best. 3-star hotels offer comfortable, clean, and standard accommodations with private bathrooms. 4-star hotels have an upgrade in rooms with more amenities. On the islands, you can enjoy nature hikes to observe wildlife, birdwatching, or kayaking. Snorkel equipment is provided on tours. Wetsuits can be rented for around $15-$20 per day.

I did not know your company offers different levels of hotels for the same itinerary as only 3 star hotels are listed on Tourradar. A private bathroom and appropriate heating or cooling and a breakfast are the main things we need but having access to wifi is also very good.

    • Responsible Travel South AmericaOperatorWritten October 2024

We work with comfortable 3-start hotels that have a private bathroom, in August the weather is warm and all the hotel rooms have air-conditioning, breakfast, and wifi access. In case you want an upgrade to a 4-star hotel, the price will be 2 800$ per person.
